Finally installed them and took me about an hour to put on. Instructions were great and hardware provided are super strong.

Thanks again John @ WK for creating an awesome product.

Looks really sharp!

Got mine installed...

Looks great!!!

Very nice! I love the new design. I am still debating on buying these and sellling my 1st gen for some reason. Tired of getting hung up on the kickout

I think you are making a mtn out of a molehill.

In my opinion, I highly doubt the change in angle of the rock rail being just ever so slightly more abrupt is causing you to get hung up to prevent forward movement. If your truck moved 1cm laterally while attempting an obstacle there would be zero difference. Even if you are up against a tree, i seriously doubt the bent tube vs welded angle would prevent you from moving forward. Just add some weld or weld in a very small plate to angle it more.

I agree with you. If you don't want to get hung up on the kickout, i think you should just go with a slider with no kick out. I just cant see a slightly different bend being the make or break on being stuck.

I talked to John today, he said to let him know if you get rust on your top plates and he'll help you convert it to a bolt in system. He's switched to a bolt in step design now (wish I'd waited for that or thought of it before I ordered mine).

What...I wish I had thought of that too! I'm gonna give him a call to see what I can do to convert mine over.

Thats great to know. Just ordered mine from John today. 3 weeks out---looking forward to putting them to use this summer.

Let me know if you going to sell as i would like to buy as its the only way i could afford to have them and shipped to the UK.

I am desperate for a set but new and shipping just cost far to much for me.

Like I have told people via PM. I thought about selling them for the new design, however they are dented, gouged, and heavily abused. I would not feel good about letting them go at any cost. I apologize for posting that, but after thinking about it you would be much better purchasing a new set. I can certainly help you get a set to you, I I can be of any help, if you still have my email, contact me through there an we can start to work something out. I know John quite well outside of MUD ( not personally but via email/calls and R&D, not taking credit for any design changes, just tips ad pointers here and there).

I called John about sending me a bolt up kit to convert my plates from being welded to bolted. He said to make it easy just seal the bottom side like has been said and if they ever rusted between the two pieces he would send me new plates and the bolt tabs on him! Great company hands down!!!

I've had my WK sliders on for a couple of weeks now & they are great. Haven't put them to proper use yet, but for D2D they are the perfect height & "stick-out" for accessing the top of the LC. The bolt-on system is VERY trick, and the holes line up perfectly & it goes together very easily. Just top notch craftsmanship all the way. I have AHC & it was no biggie to put it together---just had the wife lift the rears for about 30 seconds while I bolted it in. I've asked John to fabricate me a 5/8" wedge with a notch cut into the top so I can drop the tops out some more for D2D use as running boards. As it is right now, I don't really come in contact with the diamond plate tops.

The wedge is a great idea. Mine are already starting to rust between the plate and the tube underneath and I live in SoCal. Need to buy that wax.

I ended up using both sliders this weekend. They worked great. I came down on the PS one by the rear wheel and it took it like a champ. And I slid over some rocks on the DS one.

I might take them off and clean and reprint the damage before sticking them back on. Is anyone using loctite on theirs to prevent them from loosening up?

John did a custom job on my sliders with bolt in stainless steel diamond plates. After one year they still look great and work flawlessly! Had the bare DOM powder coated gray to match my LC two-tone blue/gray color scheme. My wife and kids feet don't slip threw the gaps and the plates help keep rocks and gravel from chipping away at the rocker plate.

I have ver1 also and would like to retrofit some gap plates. How did you come about filling the gaps versus making a solid plate on top of the slider?

ninja edit: I forgot John was the owner of WKOF.... its been that long since I purchased them.

Gunga-

Any chance you can post a few pics of the underside of these? I like the separate plates between the tubes, just wondering how it all connects. Sounds like John is happy to make whatever you like, I'm considering shortening them up a few inches so a set of OEM front mud flaps fit.

Looks great.

CAn you post a pic of your factory mud flaps? I've never seen one. There is already a slight gap. Wondering if it's big enough to fit the flaps.
