I think I may soon be recieving an offer to return to Saudi Arabia that I won't be able to refuse. I'd like to take my current 100 with me if I go but I'm told they've changed the law and now you can only import cars into Saudi that are 4 years old or newer.

I'm not a fan of the 200 series, so I may have to look into either buying a used 100 in Saudi (or posibly another Defender 110 or a Nissan Patrol). I'm wondering if I might be able to find a 105 in Saudi, does anyone know if they were sold there? I really am a fan of the solid front axle.

If I was going to Saudi, I'd buy a 76

Dunno if they were sold there, but there's nothing there to crawl on that you'd see the benefits of the SFA.
When I was there before we did a lot of mountain climbing. some great ranges on the west side. Even in the dunes, I felt like I had better performance with my SFA (Defender) than when I had an IFA (120 series)

105 was a South Africa and Australia market car only, I believe.

Ahh I forgot about the 76. When I lived in Dubai I had a hard time getting the "official" dealer to order me a new 70 series. Maybe Saudi will be different.

I have been all over North Africa and the Middle East and we had them. Can't say I liked the brush guard on this one...
