I know I'm leaving myself open for a lot of comments!
Is this hole supposed to be here? What's it for?
Thanks! Rob

That's a speed hole. Lighter is faster.

It was probably put in to be able to access something behind with a socket extension.

Guessing the hole was either a after market overdrive or PTO shifter. If it were on the other side would say a home made shifter to replace the 4WD vacuum shift. Seen that done a few times.

I was late with the wise crack, there are just too many funny guys around here :hmm: .

Not a stock item, but obviously some folks have an active imagination. Buy a hole plug at the hardware store or electric supply house. You can remove it for extra heat and carbon monoxide in the winter.

Have the hole repaired. That’s an otherwise great tranny hump.

I couldn't sleep at nights until I solved this mystery. So glad I don't have one in my hump.

I don't see a transfer case shifter. Maybe had some left handed Lithuanian gorble shifter at one time?o_O

The only picture I've seen is the p hole. I have to go with that.😄
