It appears to be factory installed. I removed it from the dash to look at the backside . There are about 7 wires that attach to it. All soldered connections. There are no splices in the wires that attach to it. When I turn it nothing happens.

It doesn’t have a trailer hitch or wiring .

Aftermarket stereo and amp? Maybe some sort of weird equalizer.

Wiggle the wires while your head is under the dash and see what wires move.
Look for an unattached hot wire near the battery. If it was an aftermarket accessory it may have been disconnected from the battery positive terminal. If so, they most likely ran the hot wire from the pos on the battery then along top of the inner wheel well and thru the firewall up high on the passenger side near the windshield washer bottle and into the underside of the dash passenger side to that switch.

you know if you don't follow n eliminate that, in a while some electrical gremlin will possess your truck. do any of the wires go to the fuse box? to battery?

The air plenum on the hump or ashtray will give you alot of visibility to the back. This is probably a gain know. What I did, mine is a bit cleaner though
