You own a vehicle for 20 years and you think you know it pretty well.

I found this round knob/hanger on the back of the second row passenger seat of a JDM 1988 HJ-61 VX (HJ61V-PEMZX, specifically). Has Toyota color machine screw into a bump out plastic(?) piece firmly attached to the seat frame under the upholstery. Not sure if it's factory. Can't get to it unless I want to use hog ring pliers and take the seat apart, which makes me think it is not aftermarket.

Just happens to bet at the exact elevation of my desired sleeping platform height, and I want it to be snug to the rear seat back.

Oh well, I'll work around it, just curious as to what it is there for. No other similar grommets anywhere else on the vehicle.

Russian EPC, anayama, megazip no help...

Cheers!
