They are Hercules Trail Digger M/T
31 x 10.50 x 15

A follow up question - how lifted is your truck? I actually really like the stance. Been debating going to 33" tires and a lift down the road but I kind of like the look of some aggressively knobby 31's.

Swapped the PO's homemade body mounts :bang: for a set from Energy Suspension. The difference in ride quality is ridiculous. Also fixed some cruiser lean and eliminated a lot of squeaks and rattles (for obvious reasons when I got into it). I highly recommend these bad boys if your mounts are old and crusty.

It took me forever because I spent most of my time fighting with POs bolt / washer / whatever rubber type material he had lying around when he last did this job. Finally wised up and broke out the Saws-all with a serious cutting blade which cut through old bolts like butter.

The carnage when it was all said and done. PO didn't have anything on mount #4 (on frame arch by the rear wheels) or on his custom rear bumper (just bolted directly to the frame with a nut between the bumper and body. I should have done this so much earlier. The carnage:

Also continued my tradition of slowing degreasing my undercarriage one pair of pants and sweatshirt at a time :hillbilly:

KY Hillbilly - my '78 has about the same amount of lift/2-3". I have 33's on now but considering the 31's as I might eventually go back to stock ride height. I like the stance of your rig though my friend. How is the red '78 coming along-would love to see more pics.

Yellow Jacket-a too have removed so much gunk from my undercarriage too-tell us more about the change in ride/noise as well with the new body mounts. I believe GA also installed some new ones................

It's been a slow process. The original gas tank was trashed. I put a sprayer tank in but it also leaked. Put in a marine plastic tank in, works good. Has problems with the fuel pump, had an old electric that I installed. Finally have it running good. It's never going to be on the road.

It's a huge difference. It might be my best mod yet and I threw on a OME suspension in 2014! My 7 year old even noticed and was impressed. It eliminated a ton on squeaks and rattles but no suspense given the back half of the body was basically mounted directly to the frame before. I suppose my improvement will be better than most given the horrible starting point my PO left me with.

I remember reading about those awesome mounts right after you bought the truck. Glad to see they've been remedied!

You're thinking of my spring hangers that we're all chewed up. Replaced all of those right away which was also a huge improvement. I had blinders on when I bought this rig but I've remedied the most egregious issues I should have spotted.

KY Hillbilly I just put in a OEM fuel pump in mine, got it from Racer 65. My old one went bad-actually disintegrated relesaing little black chunks right into my carb-so that was rebuilt. Going to go back to original OEM carb and getting some emissions/fuel vent stuff hooked up but not a re-smog. Do you think it may ride better on 33's??

Ah yeah that might be it. And trust me I understand all about the blinders. Have you seen my rig?!
