Didn't take a lot of pictures but here's a few -

First, brake refresh at 45K miles. New pads and rotors all around, plus I rebuilt the rear calipers because of a sticky piston. Rears are wearing much faster than the fronts. I do live on top of a little mountain so going up and down all the time wears the brakes out - one neighbor told me he had to replace his wife's brakes after 10K. I told him to tell her to learn about downshifting. haha

Next time around I'll probably just buy new OEM calipers. Wasn't too difficult to rebuild the rears but it is time consuming vs just swapping them out.

Next up was undercoating to get ready for the winter. I've used fluid film in a can for the last few years but was recommended this black woolwax and wanted to try it out. Used one gallon per vehicle, sprayed via compressor and gun. Got the 200 and Tundra done and still need to do the 80. Messy process but this woolwax looks like it's going to stick better and provide better coverage than fluid film.

Looks like I raptor lined the shocks on my Tundra:

After that I swapped on the winter wheels/tires and gave it a solid deep clean. Not too many pictures throughout as it was a 10+ hour process and I just wanted to get through it...

I'm still perfecting my process - still have a lot to learn about detailing - but this time around I did:

- Iron remover
- Foam cannon
- Hard water stain remover
- First hand wash with dawn soap
- Clay bar
- Second hand wash with automotive soap
- Touch up paint/rock chips
- Sealant
- Wax

Every time I see a white HE I wish I would have gone that route but oh well. I will say black does clean up real nice when you put some effort into it

Im trying to decide if I wanna fluid film/wool wax mine. It just makes it suck to work on when everything is slimy and slippery. I have the spray gun and everything as I have been doing all of my cars the last 5 years or so but each year I become less enthusiastic about it

black looks the best when clean. But my God, it takes a lot to keep it that way. I don't know how hard your water is in UT, but there's a way you can pass your water through a softener type media in an upright cylinder to make it effectively DI water. This reduces water spots to almost nothing and helps keep your foam cannons shooting foam on your car better than a car wash! I just used mine for the first time this weekend with great results. It's a real B to setup, but once it's setup you can use it for anything you feel froggy to clean.
The rain here in UT is hard  .

I wash my car, then 5 minutes later it rains and there is 20 lbs of fine dust left on the car when it dries. I dont even try anymore. i think the dust gets picked up in the deserts west of Salt Lake and in Nevada and comes out in the rain.

Yeah I feel ya. I had a 100 that I loved and dumped way too much money into.. ultimately I had to get rid of it partially because of rust issues so I’m fine with the annoyance of fluid film for now, pros outweigh the cons even though it is a pain sometimes

If I had an easy way to pressure wash all the nooks and crannies of the underside in the spring that would make it better.

I should print a few extras of this.. been wanting to adjust a couple things on it though and need to learn how to do that in fusion.

Not the best pictures, but here is my new setup for phones and IPad. I used the setup for the phones in MOAB and they were awesome. The iPad setup is the newest and will test off-road next year more extensively.

I went with the Leather and Dirt rail system, awesome product!

I used the 1” Ram mounts for the phones and the 1.5” for the IPad, could have gone with 1” for all. I would suggest looking at the Bulletpoint options as they have more adjustability.

I'd be interested in a review of your Android Auto unit, especially if anything seems glitchy or reboots when it's not supposed to (these are the complaints people often have). It seems the tech has come a little bit further than when I bought my Android Auto unit (different brand, but likely shared hardware between brands). The one I have has been more or less glitch free.

Check out my comments on this thread. Covers my observations to date. Not glitch nor does it reboot.

Have you got a link you can share?

08 lx today got
Oil change
New bolts on both mirrors to fix the shaking
New seal on the rear door where drivers door closes
New light on frame sliders, did a rope light but the double sided tape didn’t seem strong. Used some zip ties. I think I need a better solution.

2017 got a new door seal also

What bolts to fix shaking? I have the same issue on my 09.

Hows your coolant level?

Coolant level is good, prior owner replaced radiator.

There is a fsb for the mirrors shaking. You replace the 3 bolts inside the mirror and a new plastic part, it’s $12 per mirror
I need to have that looked at, the mirror.

With the coolant, I was referring to the valley plate. Bit me when I bought one.

In regards to what? The service interval or the fluid. I havent actually looked up what the service interval is supposed to be, I just did it because my truck was closing on 60k miles. Not sure when I will do it next.

I consider Supertech full-synthetic gear oil to be a decent fluid, which is also cheap. You're just not paying the name brand tax.

Edit: Just looked at my service manual and they seem to suggest differentials should be every 15k miles when towing, t-case every 30k miles, and transmission every 60k miles. At this point I would say about 50% of this trucks miles are towing
I was going comment about the intervals on your previous 30k cheapest good fluid post. I had 30k on my brain for some reason on the diff intervals as well but was corrected by another murder. Did mine at 27k’ish and the front definitely needed it. I’m doing them at 15k moving forward, no doubt about it. They are easy with the right tools and fluid pump.

For the record, I tow 75% of the time and have a big fat gal of a cruiser. As pointed out on here many times, fluids are cheaper than repairs.
