Got caught up on my to-do list this weekend. Flip-flopped my shower awning and hi-lift so that I can get into my RTT without having to put out either of my awnings. Ladder still can't reach the bungs on the tent itself but I just hook it to the hi-lift.

Moved my traction boards from my driver's side panel to my roof rack and added another storage box. I now have one on each side. Toiletries on my passenger side with the shower awning and air up/down tools, winch gear, etc. on the driver side.

Test fit a Wilco hitchswing on the back. Wife and kids want to take their bikes on trips now so I added another swing-out. This works great, but heavy. Definitely not staying on the car all the time.

Cool build.

How much weight is over your back axle?

Thanks!

I am not sure, it is on my to-do list to check. I don't have any drawers or too much inside at all though. I'd prefer not to travel with a trailer, especially in Europe, so with my wife, two kids, and two dogs in a crate, there's not much room for anything else inside hence why I have nearly everything hanging outside.

Any mechanic's want a job in 200 series heaven?

Hmmmm…….don’t those gauges block more important information on the dash?
Oh they are not staying there and the pic might be deceiving as all that is blocked when driving is the mileage of the vehicle. More to come on that in a few weeks or when I have more time.

I said bye bye to that paper oil filter  and had an oil pressure/temp gauges installed. Trans temp gauge will be activated next week as I needed a T-Fitting Adapter for it.
looks like you have a 2016+ which provides trans temp from obd2. I wouldn't want to introduce an aftermarket t-fitting that could cause more issues, but that's just me. Last time I had gauges like that was when I owned a car from the 80s.

Yeah, those are begging for a pillar mount.

FYI that location on the oil filter is exactly where I destroyed a skid last summer. Just saying.

I tried obd2 for trans temp with a banks gauge and could not see that. Maybe a different device like the Scan gauge. I am not worried about a t-fitting causing issues.

Yeah I am working on a pillar mount just need the time.

Yeah that is definitely possible but I do not do any serious off roading. Building this beast for long Expeditions (road trips lol) to places like Labrador, Alaska and everywhere in between.

That is a very bad idea to have that oil filter exposed like that, especially on a long expedition vehicle.

I use the VeePeak OBDCheck BLE Bluetooth scanner and OBD Fusion App for iOS. Both can be had for much less than those analog gauges and if you get the Toyota extension for OBD Fusion you can monitor anything important. It's an extremely versatile setup and others on here have even set up custom dashboards on tablets to have multiple readouts at once. It would be great for your upcoming expeditions.

Yeap I know that app, have that one, it is nice for sure but I like the gauges more :)

So I found some shorter oil can filter options that won't protrude as far as my current one, this one was my first try so you live and you learn. I will post some pics when I get the new one installed.

I did not install the oil can filter just for the gauges, I was never a fan of that cartridge filter the LC200 comes with and was long overdue to get rid of that thing.

Any chance you gentlemen have the part numbers for the metal housing and wrench?
More info located in this thread.

Jowett performance filter housing "Group Buy"

You will need 3/4in drive socket wrench to turn the filter housing or a 1/2" drive socket with an adapter. Jowett has a wrench as well.

Sold the GFC Superlite RTT to a happy new owner. Looks right at home on a beastly 80-series.

Reconfiguring the cargo area with a custom drawer and fridge slide. Trying to keep it as light as possibly and harvest every cubic inch.

Slow build, I wanted to try my luck with a cheap light. Very pleased. T splice into the Hatch button supply, all easy and clean. The electronic switch in the light requires a press to turn it on, but it does go off automatically with closing. Pretty rugged chunk of metal body. I opted to use the rubber base as it has cord routing that allows you to center the wire hole and surely prevents any rattle. Some felt instead of that could keep it a bit lower profile, but good for now. Plenty bright, red light a bonus over some other options.

Invesments into it so far (new in 2020): OptiCoat, XPel, annual Woolwax professionally done, 285/65/18 Toyo AT3 on OEM BBS / 285/60/18 Blizzaks on OZ Racing, Jowett filter & EZs, hatchlight. Dometic.
Next up is the bigger $ stuff..waiting on Trekkboxx to open up orders again. Debating Slee or BudBuilt sliders.

looking forward to what your drawer looks like. i recently added a fridge slide on the same side using the existing 3rd row bolt holes and still thinking through what i want for the storage solution. i want to keep one of the 3rd row seats in.
