I added a SLEE rear bumper. Damn this thing is very high quality!

I have made a little more progress on the Dissent rear bumper. I have the swing arms mounted and the spare tire. I still need to do make my wire harness for the lights, install the parking sensors, relocate the camera, install ratchet strap for jerry can and make the final cut on the tupperware. The quality of the bumper and the ease of install have been excellent so far.

Had the chance to clean the front seatbelts today. Used some clamps to hold the belts then soaked them in Woollite and water in a tall plastic cup for a few hours. Then used a hand held steam cleaner to rinse. It's the little things :p

That bumper looks great. Really makes me want to get one. Could you share details about the antenna installation you have on the rear hatch?
It has been a couple of years, but if I remember right I used a Diamond antenna mount and a Comet dual band antenna. The mount attaches to the lift gate.

This is exactly the type of thing I would do and my wife would lovingly make fun of me for doing it. I’ll contort into a pretzel to clean a spot that’s not even visible only because I know it’s there. On the flip side, I’ll keep a decade old car looking factory fresh and my family will think that the cleaning trolls who come out while they are asleep are responsible for it.

What did they look like before cleaning? Would the steam cleaner help with relaxing creases in the belts from a car seat?

Well..... seems we are in the same tub regarding 🤓 wives. I'm in my garage all the time polishing one of our vehicles. Can't help it I like sh$t clean. Anyway, yes the steam cleaner helped a lot. I have a cheap old hand held that worked pretty good and it's much better than using a towel to try to rub the dirt out. Checked them this morning and very happy with the outcome.

My first DIY oil change at home today at 50k. Used M1 Extended Performance and Royal Purple filter. Had been on dealer package maintenance on 10k intervals until now but plan to DIY on 5k intervals.

I see first hand now why people are scared to let dealers work on their trucks. I had to use a 24" breaker bar to get the oil filter housing off. Holy crap definitely not 18 ftlbs. Was glad it didn't break getting it off. Plan to change to the metal toyota housing but still waiting on it from the March sale parts order fiasco.

Don't forget to buy the wrench to fit the new housing.

I didn't have a problem with the belts not retracting but yes they do.

Any chance you gentlemen have the part numbers for the metal housing and wrench?

Thats the metal housing. It's not a land cruiser part and you have to swap out the filter support tube with the one from the land cruiser housing. There's a thread on here detailing it.

I was unaware the other housing takes a different wrench. I'll have to look into that more.

I did my second oil change today and both times that filter housing seems very tight to get off and on, I believe it’s the o-ring causing the drag. I find the torque wrench is somewhat superfluous, it’s more than the required 18 ftlbs just to get it seated, I get it seated and still put the torque on it but I think that’s more a symptom of my ocd than actually achieving the proper torque. I may need more oil to lube the o-ring, idk.

I will say that when I removed the stock plastic filter housing it was just as tough through the threads. I chewed it up something awful since I didn’t have the proper wrench and used some adjustable pliers.

It’s the same wrench.

Wife did this today. 54k miles on the tires, several trails in the San Juans under them, and the concrete jungle was what took it down. Destroyed 500 feet from home. With 54k looks like it'll be best to replace them all even though they're in great shape. Wish city road construction could be held responsible.

Thank you!

Got caught up on my to-do list this weekend. Flip-flopped my shower awning and hi-lift so that I can get into my RTT without having to put out either of my awnings. Ladder still can't reach the bungs on the tent itself but I just hook it to the hi-lift.

Moved my traction boards from my driver's side panel to my roof rack and added another storage box. I now have one on each side. Toiletries on my passenger side with the shower awning and air up/down tools, winch gear, etc. on the driver side.

Test fit a Wilco hitchswing on the back. Wife and kids want to take their bikes on trips now so I added another swing-out. This works great, but heavy. Definitely not staying on the car all the time.

Love the ride! Question though, those victory 4x4 side molle panels you have with the case, how much weight are you putting on/in it? I just ordered them and was planning on putting a waterport day tank.

I think the side with my recovery gear is about 30 lbs including the box, and the other side has TP and other hygiene stuff, so maybe 10 lbs total including the box. I think that will be a great place to mount your waterport!
