Very nice cross bar alternative. Will be interested to see the MaxTrax mounts. I was considering them for the exact
same reason!
All done with the LFD install including the Kaon folding max trax mounts. Took a couple trips to the hardware store but that seems to always happen. So I have LFD 200 series package. Added two LFD mounting plates. Everything from LFD comes with nice stainless hardware. Kaon folding max trax mounts also came with hardware but needed to add some nylock nuts and some flat washers to use with the included kaon bolts. So four flat washers and 4 nylocks gets the 2 kaon mounts perfectly mounted to the LFD plates. No drilling required! Got lucky Kaon already has multiple holes drilled for racks and the front runner spacing was perfect. Max trax pins install on kaon mounts easy peezy. Now to get the LFD plates on the LFD bars I needed to buy 8 flat washers to help get better contact from the top of the plate. LFD bolt with two LFD locking washers then flat washer from the top of the LFD plate. The a little locktite on the combination put that through the top of the plate and then LFD nursery in the bottom and your mint. I used one max trax to get perfect spacing before bolting down. Very secure and folds to fit in my garage. Very happy with this set up. Trying to keep it minimal on the roof. Will add an swinging off passenger side when I get more time with already purchased LFD awning brackets.

Drove around NM for the week just checking things out. It was a good test of my newly installed Dissent rear bumper and swing outs. Nothing shook lose and it all worked well. Also a good test of the Roam box I mounted to the accessory swing out. It saw rain, snow, and lots of dust plus a pressure washer when I got home. No dirt or water got past the seal.

I take the foot off my hi lift and store in my drawers. I found that it gets in the way of the latch.

I’ve considered this. It works but it is a bit of a pain. For how often I’ve actually needed to use a high lift ( never) installing the foot wouldn’t be too inconvenient. Especially compared to being annoyed every time I open the hatch.

Finished install of LFD 200 series cross bars with integrated wind fairing. Also have LFD mounting plates that I will use to install Kaon folding max trax mounts in order to fit in garage. That’s next step. March madness is hurting my garage time.

Did you have any issues with the mounting bolts fitting the angled slot on the front? I just did an install and I was not able to get a lot of the way into those slots. Easily slid ideeply nto the non-angled slot.

No it seemed to work well. There are two different sized slots on the LFD bars. I was unable to fit bolts through the slots closest to the drivers side. So as you can see in the picture I mounted toward the middle of drivers side. You have to just make sure those nutcerts from LFD are perpendicular to the slot and that they set first. Same with the load bars have to make sure you turn those suckers so they grab and set in the factory Toyota rails.

Replaced my 4 year old OEM main battery today w Odyssey 31 AGM. Finally got around to installing my Slee battery terminals on main and aux. batteries. Added Slee accessory tray and relocated Redarc SBI. Mounted Noco onboard charger which is direct wired to AGM batteries. AC plug under Rhino bumper.

That’s a pretty cool setup … do you have any instruction on the installation ?

Those are nice! After driving for a while, let us know how much noisier it is than the stock crossbars? I keep my stock bars all the way back when not being used to reduce noise. I miss the versatility of the Prinsu rack that I had on the 4Runner, but I sure enjoy the quiet of the LC!

Thanks!

For sure. I will definitely get a better couple or fitting to make life easier. I’ll have to research the one you mentioned.

Anyone have success with this?

I use the lock n lube. Works great for me. Makes it a lot easier to attach/detach to the zerk fitting.
