The new pipe is farther back than the original. I think the photo angle was deceiving.

I was specifically trying to avoid flowing to the back side of the bumper. I’ll take another look and another photo...

I don’t know why he left so much material. I think I will chop it flatter on the bottom which will create less leftward (driver) angle...

Looks like that 24 doesn’t affect clearance as much as I thought it would. Werry nice.

You are adding .3125" (5/16") of solid material around the entire perimeter of the lid. I've had 3 people sit on them, 10- 80# bags of Sacrete stacked on them and loaded with upwards of 100# of gear internally. IMO, if anything the lid is stronger now.

Also to note the 200 lid is a couple of inches shallower (front to back) than the 60, 80 or 100 lid so it's even more rigid than my others. I have about 320 of these lids out worldwide and not one complaint on strength.

Mark,

When I chopped Tony's resonator off, the DS bumper tail light was melted because of the heat build up in that area. It blows directly into that area. Take caution there as well.

Ya, I did see that oddity on Tony’s. Quite unexpected. It does entendres far enough and aims the pipe downward and toward driver side. But like I said...it’s still more expose to being mashed at the end. Will likely trim a bit more.

Bud is a great guy. He helped me out last year. It’s fun putting stuff through the wringer.

I’ll be watching as I’ll be needing just such a tweak on my skids...minus the diff-drop.

I was hoping to order some rear shock guards, but I guess they aren’t in full production at the moment. Waited too long. Meanwhile I’ll keep bashing on the BB prototype shock guard I still have on one side. :) Looking forward to the “Mark II” (ha!) version. My BB rear control arm bolt covers are massively strong. Highly recommended.

Also... Ready to replace my ARB skids with BudBuilt so I’ll be keen on checking those out, @Willy beamin ! Meanwhile, I’ll keep bending my ARBs into new and exciting shapes... :steer:

Pushed the driving lights back and got rid of the thimble last night, which was sticking a couple inches past the bumper. If anyone wants a Smittybilt aluminum winch shackle for cheap let me know and I can bring it to the LCDC or maybe ship it. The original packaging is at Chitown4x4 - probably in the trash now, so I can't return it. I paid about $75 for it on Amazon.

Also I kept the original fog lights and windshield washer assemblies. Gonna throw them up on ebay, but if anyone needs them let me know

So this evening I started the transformation for the Slee Sliders that will go on next week. I cut off the side step and trimmed the upper portion. Thanks to @grinchy and the others who have done this and provided the inspiration for me to do the same. This totally saved me some serious $.

I only got one side done this evening and I'll tackle the other tomorrow.
