I have this coming. However, with Harvey, not sure when I'll get it.

retreived a friends car from a flooded street..... ended up driving around pulling about a dozen cars to higher ground.... shocked at people thinking a car can go thru 2-3 feet of water....

Areas in houston are truly flooded like nothing I've seen - so sad. Be safe Houston peeps !

Got washed, clayed, buffed and paint correction to get all scratches and pinstripes out. Completely removed and looks brand new again!

Nice! I have a silver LC as well and have been thinking about doing some kind of matte black hood wrap. Nice to see it on a real LC! It looks like it ties into the grill and the A-pillar lines well. Haven't committed to joining the black grill club (yet!)

As for me, I got out the compound, polish, and wax to get some "trash can pinstripes" out of the side. Think I'll ask 'dear son, can you take out the trash?' again anytime soon? Nope, me neither.

so true on the used cars..... when I was looking at LC's a year ago I saw 3-4 flood cars with clean carfax's....

Smart kid you've got there - no more chores for him!

I was concerned about my truck since it came from Houston and was there during the last flooding. But there were no signs of any water damage, and the only electronic gremlin is the occasional flashing center diff lock light. CPO also gave me some confidence.

Definitely worth some caution on Texas (and depending on the storms path ossibly Louisiana) trucks though. In Illinois, as of 2015 you can't register a Houston truck without a notarized letter from the prior owner cerifying under penalty of perjury that the vehicle has never been in a flood. Made for a fairly big hassle for me...

@RS6tofj80 Erich- Serious question: did you have to extend the diff and trans breather lines, waterproof any electricals, etc.. to confidently go into those waters without risking damage?

I know that a lot of owners assume that a LC, J**p, or lifted truck is a "high water vehicle" and can cause significant damage if not correctly modified/ prepped.

IIRC, your 200 is lifted, larger tires and raised air intake. Stay safe in Houston! Many friends, family, and business associates of mine have evacuated. We have room in ATX if needed.

Yep - all lines were extended with a pair of ARB kits that are in the upper firewall now - so roughly 4 plus feet. shortof that I hit all the door seals with a fresh coat of 303 ( I use it monthly) and hit much of the motor with WD40... that said I am planning on a full fluids change ASAP and will be curious to see if anything got thru... I pulled two jeeps and a rover out who were shocked that they stalled....the rover was in under 18 inches but hit it fast.... for sure one key is to move slowly. the worse water I hit was 4 plus feet but the wake from a Huge dump truck doing resuces as well was another 18 inches... that went over the hood and up the windshield.
