I usually keep it 5 over unless it's an 80mph road then I stay at 80. Especially when I'm in the Land Cruiser with the drag coefficient of a block of cheese.
It will be totally worth it!So I'm discovering last night and today how much WORK it is to clay-bar your paint...try to work out scratches...wax, etc.
Especially with mostly just the use of one arm... Fun fun fun!
A little off topic... BUT for you speed demons out there coming through WY on I80.
Just a heads up here in WY... Since I-80 was increased to 80mph a couple of years ago the troopers/state highway department have recently made a ZERO tolerance policy for the 80mph zones. So... 81mph is a ticket now.
Utah registered drivers avg 86mph for their offenses.
Colorado registered drivers avg 93mph for theirs.
Rumor per my neighborhood trooper is that they will start to enforce a 10mph rule. Meaning it is an automatic 500.00 fine for exceeding the speed limit 10mph and 50-100 for every mile per hour over that threshold. Also, they are trying to pass a law that at 100mph+ (yes this is a common ticket here on I80, actually 4.3% of all tickets issued on I80) that it will be a charge of attempted manslaughter.

Manslaughter?! That seems a bit intense.
Worst ticket I ever got was 87 in a 55 on 285 around Atlanta on an early Sunday morning.
In my mid twenties i was clocked and caught doing 85 over in a 55 on I71 in Kentucky and went to the county jail for an evening then lost my driving privileges for 30 days. Did some community service and learned to not drive that fast anymore.
Oh dear... I did 152 and then 154MPH on a second run in the dead of night...after carefully pre-driving a brand new stretch of freeway with no critters...no trees...no other traffic at all...then pushed it until the needle touched the pin (I'm estimating 154, because it was only marked to 150, and the pin was where 154 would have been). It was a slight down-hill stretch which helped a bit...but that was in my little turbo WRX, believe it or not. I had removed the speed governor via a reprogram. Found out after the fact that I could have been in serious trouble if ticketed...like jail time. Good thing I sold it... What a fun little car that was (even at MUCH slower speeds!).
Ya, my WRX was otherwise stock at 265HP, except for no governor and a different tune via computer. I do miss that little car.I believe it! My twin turbo chipped 2005 Dodge 1 ton dually on 34" mudders (10000# welding truck) could hit 130 pretty easily and hit the 135 speed limiter about 1-2 second after that....

Hamburger meat in tin foil.I can't really comment here... When I was a rig welder years ago (for +14years) I ran 90-130mph on a normal basis (when the speed limit was 50-60 in Texas)... Most of the oil and gas companies back in the 90s had the cops paid off.. There would be 6-14 of us running 100+ and they would just flip the lights and stay put. But, what there are saying is if you wreck at that speed there is a 75% chance (proven by statistics) that you will kill whatever you hit or kill whatever is in your vehicle.
A buddy of mine hit a 1700# bull moose at 80+ mph in his welding rig. His girlfriend died from loss of blood and he has prosthesis from the right knee down. Moose pushed the A-pillar into the girls upper torso and the transmission got his leg. So just image that scenario at 100mph and hitting another car going 65-80mph. Pretty much instant death is the predicted outcome.
My worst was 94 in a 50 in Tennessee in 1994. 4 days in county and a 3500.00 fine with 200 hours of CS.

Going an indicated 160 in my M4 on a flat empty section of I80 was enough for me.
Is that a can mount on the right?
What are the mount plates on either side of the tire carrier?
Looks good!
