Early teaser, I'm building a raspberry pi setup to offer video games and movies running off the inputs from my Beatsonic thread. Will post more once complete, but the vision is wireless Xbox 360 controllers playing Nintendo and Sega games via the dash screen and the backseat screens (on the 2016) while also offering movies on all 3 screens. Dat long road trip tho...
Let me know how well this works for movies. I used a Pi 2 to build an arcade... Retropie was by far the easiest thing to get working. Works well for consoles up to Playstation but struggles with newer consoles like N64 (and Nintendo64 ain't that new).

I've run Plex for movies but not sure if the Pi could keep up.

When they reverse engineered the Safari Snorkel it appears they copied the rain drains too ;)

I've been driving a snorkel equipped Cruiser for 15+ years, I've never found a scenario to turn the ram around. #urbanlegend :D

I'm sure there are some hurricane rains that soils warrant flipping it... I've just never seen it.

I was thinking I'd turn it around because of snow so that the intake doesn't ice up. I take it from your reply you've never had an issue with snow accumulation or airflow in Utah, Kurt?

I don't leave it in the truck, but my key-hook is about 15 ft from it when parked in the garage - might be close enough to trigger something... Well within range to use the unlock button, but far enough away that the courtesy lights aren't tripped as they do when approaching the vehicle. I almost never use the fob's buttons, fwiw, except for the occasional 3-click automatic window open when it has been baking in a surface lot during the summer. Otherwise the fob stays in my pocket or on the key-hook. I also poked around the techstream obdii app but didn't see any 'obvious' range settings to alter.

My front door is <7' from my truck, and the keys sit on a hook right by the front door. They're definitely within 10' of the passenger door most of the time and we've gone 14 months without needing to change a fob battery yet.

Added a Wilco Hitchgate solo XL to the rear. Holds my spare, hi lift, and a 4 gal rotopax. Can tow 7500lb with it on. Downside is it blocks my rear view camera and one parking sensor.

I decided to get this vs a rear bumper because #1 slee is taking too long to release his and #2 I tend to change vehicles frequently and I can move this if/when I sell the rig.

Very, very, very nice setup. Everything looks proportional and the 295's look great.

Wow - absolutely gorgeous.

Nice looking rig. Almost the full monty 35x12.5 size tire.

Only thing we need is ...more pics!

Threw in some heavier rate coils ready for rear fitout and loading it up, and a new rear panhard rod to square up the axle. Lift sitting at 4" rear and 3" front unloaded, still rides nice and soft on the first rate of the slinky coil.

Are you planning to carry a lot of weight in the rear?

122Lt fuel/60Lt water tank, drawers, fridge, cargo barrier, roof rack with awning, 260kg ball weight, family of 5 with camping gear, winch etc. Going for a 3,800 Kg (8,400lb) GVM upgrade. Should be 3" front & 2" rear loaded.

I was gonna say...that's looking mighty high otherwise!

The rocket box rule. You will enjoy it.

I just purchased a new 2017 LC; which cargo box did you get from Thule? I like your setup. I want to order but was concerned about clearing the antenna on roof near back hatch. If you could let me know what model and size I would appreciate!

I'm making some modifications to my roof rack, so I pulled it off yesterday. To my surprise, I'm actually really liking the look without it, and the eco light has been coming on a lot more. :hmm: I'll probably go ahead with the mods and put it back on, but I'll live with it this way for a week to be sure.

It's a Thule Sonic XXl. It clears the antenna and hatch with no issue. The Sonic is being replaced by the Motion XT. $700+ is a lot of cash. I'd wait for the REI 20% off sale. little to no wind noise. I can put the kitchen sink in this thing. It fits in the garage now. We shall see when the Tough Dog suspension and tires go on her. Very happy.

I bought a cooler for it and installed an arb twin compressor on the slee mount.
Also got my winch in, just figuring out a front bumper or if I want to do a hidden winch mount. Gavimiti rack and RLC rear bumper should be shipping next week!

Also that's Kevin, He wouldn't get outta the way. Ha
