yeah, not very functional for off-road or really on-road IMHO but they just wanted a ridiculous tow rig to promote the speed boats they build which this will be.

Ya...it reminds me of those Humvee limousines...with knobby tires and suspension...
...but that couldn't make a turn around a rock unless it was Gibraltar... ;)

you're toying with my emotions - stop it - all this back and fourth

Got a new Nav update and a quote from a local place on Fox and Icon coil overs.

I don't know about others but I never use the factory NAV. I just open WAZE. I find just entering addresses so frustrating.

nice find and with the TPMS sensors - good on you
yes - you need the conical lugs - several outlets online for sourcing those. I picked mine up through trdparts4u.com
congrats

Wonder if Beno can source these?

What year Tundra am I shopping for?

Do I need different lug nuts for these?

Yes, as others have pointed out.

Here is what the Toyota TRD lug nuts look like:

Note that the mating surface that contacts the wheels is designed to rotate - thus avoiding scuffing up the wheels. This is a feature not found in the generic substitutes.

Toyota recommends this wheel for the Land Cruiser. Here is page 1 of the tech sheet Toyota publishes for these wheels:

Please note under "Additional Items Required For INstallation" the Part Number for the lug nut set that includes 16 x splined lug nuts, 4 x lock nuts, the spline tool and the lock nut tool.

One source for the entire set is here: Wheels, TRD Wheel Installation Kit 14mm PTR27-60110

I got it home, I hooked it up to my battery, and it worked great. Next, I started taking it apart. Nothing big, just inspecting the inside of the drum and brake. I got my angle grinder with lapping wheel and got all of the surface rust off of the drum. I also removed the planetary gears and inspected them, ensuring the teeth were in good shape and had plenty of grease (but not too much). I then gave it a heavy coat of semi-matte black high temperature engine enamel.

The raw aluminum shafts that span across the drum were pretty chewed up, so I removed them and sanded out the rough spots. I then hit them with some silver engine enamel.

I then bought some new Grade 8 mounting bolts and replaced the rusted hardware with some stainless steel hardware.

And then the finished product:

I think it turned out pretty nice.

I also ordered a 13.5k lb 92' 1/2" synthetic line to go with it. I'll order a hawse fairlead from Slee sometime soon.

Made an LPG conversion just a few days ago, so now Cruiser's dual fuel, could run both on LPG and regular gas. There is a toroidal tank on the place of the spare tire, the spare itself is in the trunk for now. There are also two reducers and a dedicated control unit under the bonnet and a button inside the car to change the fuel type on-the-fly. Don't have any pictures yet, but could post them soon.

Andrew, nice job on the winch. Did you inspect the motor for corrosion inside? I also recommend new solenoids or upgrade to a contactor.

Yes, those are the spline drive lugs required for the TRD wheels.
