Been waiting until I had her running smoothly again before jumping in here, but she is now purring like a kitten.
So here goes - have a 99 LC that was handed to me no cost in exchange for some electronics/stereo installation help on new house. 237k on the odo and a warning that the transfer case was shot. Got it home and into the garage and on the jacks. Discovered the transfer case was fine and in the end the main driveline issue was the right side CV had popped out of the front diff. But decided I was going to fix a bunch of stuff and make it a safe vehicle for camping/fishing trips and safe for son to drive. So while not in the last week but really nights/weekends/when I had time over the past three months have done the following:
Timing belt / water pump with all the pulleys
Cam and Crank seals
Spark Plugs and coils
Air and fuel filter
Oil pump / all o-rings and seals for oil filter housing
Upper and lower oil pan gaskets
Re-torqued transmission pan and valve cover bolts
Pads/rotors on all 4 corners and readjust parking brake
Dropped front diff to double check, new seals, new fluid
New transfer case and rear diff oil
Shocks
Tie rod ends
Steering rack boots
Sway bar links
Lower Ball Joints / new boots on upper ball joints
Repack front wheel bearings with all seals replaced
U-joints on rear propeller shaft
Wiper Blades / Gas cap
Flush radiator / new toyota red coolant / new cap
Alternator
Definitely a lot of work for a shade tree mechanic at best but was a great excuse to learn some new stuff and buy some new tools
Still to come over the next few weeks/months:
Heater tees
Brake accumulator (to get rid of awful noise)
BFG all terrain tires
Alignment
Sand, bondo, fix nicks and dings, re-spray entire truck

Finishing up on doing all the stripes.
Sanded with 600 grit, cleaned and primered

Much better.
Fixed the front end after a deer strike and finally installed my ARB Sahara bar.
New rear axle bearings, seals, park brake shoes, and rotors. FINALLY got rid of the squeak!
Just finished installing the OME 2.5" Medium kit and dif drop. It helps that I work at an Audi store and have access to a lift. Hats off to those who have done this without one!

Would love to see pictures if anyone has them. 295's look awesome but require re-gearing if I understand correctly.

I run 295/70/18 and it runs great no hunting gears. I run Toyo AT2 Extreme
After doing some wheeling last weekend, I decided to clean up the engine bay today (good reason to take advantage of the near-70 degree weather today). I sprayed with some Simple Green first, then hit it with the hose. It's not clean enough to eat off of since I was erring on the side of caution, but it's better than it was. I may try it again next weekend and get a little more aggressive.

Just keep spraying it with simple green. It will take a lot of grime off without blasting it. Make sure engine is cool
i install my antenna was able to use the factory bolt to mount no require drilling on the body panel. a little modification to the firestix bracket

i got it on amazon. i had to hammer it straight and drill the holes bigger.

Lowbudget....how did you run the wire? I ran it under the weather seal on the upper side of the clam shell and had some water leak by. Curious how you ran the wire and if you're having any leaks. Thanks!
i ran it between the weather strip but toward the middle of the clam shell with a loop down then up. it rarely rain in los angeles, but we got a little drizzle and no leak. so far.
