Um...pics of all this!?!

Some is not yet done, but I have re custom sliders, skid plate system, overhead switch console, custom battery boxes and recessed air check in bumper. I have yet to get my snorkel in as its in transit, and I haven't Hooked up my rock lights nor wired in the switches for the back switch panel. I'll show those as I get them. I have two aux fuse panels (blue sea) that are wired and in place but all the roof liner and a pillar need removing. So, in no particular order:

I like your switch console, looks very clean and simple!

these are supposed to be waterproof version strip lights.. they have been using them on other rigs for the same purpose. You can trim to whatever size, just simply dap some silicone over the end that was cut and voila.

thanks, i hated having switches in my dash.. there was little visibilty to the switch being on as the steering wheel is kind of in the way.

I will use the switch locations on the lower left panel to the steering wheel again, but this will be for critical switches like lockers. i don't want someone hitting the locker if it is in the center console up above.. ie.. kids arm or something.

The strip itself is considered waterproof but the connections may not be. Dab some silicone on the side of the wires too. My LED strips shorted after driving through snow and flickered on/off for a few days before I finally noticed.

Nice. I might have to copy this idea. What power source are you using to trigger the relay for them?

No relay on them as i want them hot off my aux fuse box. The intent is to keep them as both camp lights and rock lights. I had one mocked up and in place, but haven't figured out the wiring run yet under my skid plates to the firewall.

busy installing some flooring in the house this weekend and haven't completed the cruiser wiring.. lots of switches to do.

TC UCA's and Iron Man T-bars!

img20130328133715695.jpg

I finished installing Total Chaos UCA's with Iron Man Torsion Bars. At the alignment shop now! First impression is that the front end is tight, roll is majorly reduced. Basically it feels much more accurate, small, and light than it did with the old stuff. I don't run a front sway bar and the sway at speed was a bit much with stock T-bars. Very happy with the rate of the Iron Mans so far, feels perfect for my use, I will not be replacing the crappy front sway bar. MetalTech gave me a great deal on the parts as well. All in all a good Cruiser week!

Next up, Urethane for the rear sway bar, hoping it will activate earlier with all the worn rubber out of there, further reducing sway at speed.

Installed an USA-Spec PA20, painlessly.

Make sure to look real good at the inner bushings when your alignment is done. If the shop is not used to aligning these types of UCA's, you will be rebuilding them real soon. Mainly make sure things dont look tweaked in the mounts. Firestone ruined my bushings because they couldnt get the alignment right. In the end I found a shop recommended by TC.

I bought mine exactly a week ago and so far I've removed the running boards, faded fake wood trim, replaced the antenna, lubed all 6 points in the drivetrain, bought her some weathertech liners, ordered outpost sliders, and replaced the oil plug skip plate.

This was my afternoon project. I got tired of the kids always wanting me to plug in their stuff so I added a USB outlet for the back seat passengers. I ordered the outlet from Sierra Expeditions.

Just did the sway bar bushings and greased the driveshafts…

broke two bolts off, one on the front and one on the back…turned a minor job into a major one…. such a pain!

truck feels much better now

Still tracking this leak. I'm down to the rear driver side. The entire rear of the truck fills with water overnight. It's as if I left the sun roof open, but only in the driver rear quarter. The entire interior is being pulled tomorrow. I have to get a shop vac to remove the pool of water near the body mount. It over flowed into the cargo space last time. It's a serious leak.

My rear side windows that vent let in a little water. I never actually see it pool or anything, I just see the water spots on inside of that glass.

Finally found some time to give my shaft some love.

replaced both u-joints and flushed the old grease out of the slip yoke.

regreased the joints with Castrol Pyroplex Blue (finally a grease that doesn't wash out) and greased the slip yoke with Castrol Pyroplex Gold.

Good as new.

U-joint part numbers

Rear shaft 03 Land Cruiser
04371-60070 Spider Kit, Universal

I pulled the seals and cleaned them, I ran a fresh bead of silicone around the entire hatch and roof rack mounts. I will let you know if it worked out.
