Flushed out my ahc globes. Came out pretty dirty. Didnt notice much of a ride difference. Also made a mess with the can, didn’t realize until the next day that the plastic piece around the can lid was a splash guard 😅

Why did you change? Just interested since I've got the the other set and haven't purchased the lights yet. Thinking of going clear with the sports and amber with the S2s

I am thinking that 2 SQ Sports is more brighter than 1Sq S & 1S2 since we mostly go to the trail late at night:hmm:

Birthed the factory subwoofer out of the rear quarter panel. This was a huge PITA since I didn’t want to pull out my fridge and drawers.

Subwoofer had already been bypassed when I bypassed the factory amp and wired the speakers directly to the alpine CarPlay head unit. Sounds so much better.

Then I cleaned up some of the previous auxiliary wiring I did and made a mount for the fuse panel where the subwoofer previously was.

Next up is adding the @BenCC 3d printed switch/socket panels

Looking good. I recommend putting butyl type sound deadener on the outer skins of the rear quarter panel (ideally on both sides) and then covering up with some closed cell self adhesive foam. Will make a huge difference in the noise comfort.

Replaced “Elsie’s” mangled rear shocks with new Bilstein 5160 series and new hardware. Previous owner had shocks replaced or did it him (or herself… gotta think of the ladies too!) and lost a retainer plate off the shock and the lower shock bolt on the right side. Whoever it was replaced the bolt with a generic Grade 8 bolt. One of the bushings was split and falling apart as well.
Ordered a replacement bolt from the local Yota dealer. Will replace it when I get it and hope the threads aren’t mangled.
New hardware makes her sit better and can feel the difference in ride already.

Fronts being done tomorrow

Replaced my air mix servo motor without removing the dash. I modified a screwdriver by cutting down the width of the handle to be able to remove the screw in the rear. For the screw towards the center (impossible to get to) I just cut the metal leg of the motor support and didn't reinstall that screw during re-assembly and it works fine.

That’s some serious hand dexterity

Let me know how you like the 5160s been thinking about replacing my OMEs with them as the 5160s are dirt cheap on rockauto

Removed front grill, refinished the small panel that is immediately below it to deal with a small rust spot, and installed a new OEM grill.
Installed dual remote full flow and bypass oil filters. Spent a s***-ton of money on getting this Cruiser ready for my upcoming DV 6 day adventure.

Have any pictures? This is on my list of things to do.

I decided to try out one of ChrisFix's tips to detail the engine bay using Maquiar's Ultimate Black on some of the plastic/rubber parts. Didn't turn out too bad. Maybe next time I'll try doing the painted surfaces.

I also finally got the SDHQ billet battery terminals installed that were sitting in my garage for months. Plus, I added a battery mat to raise the level of the battery to better fit the Slee tray. Next up is probably the "big 3 electrical upgrade" and a switch for some Baja Designs lights to be installed later using @BenCC's fog light replacement mod.

Last, I have a question about the bracket or connector(s) for the hoses coming off the charcoal canister, fuel filter, etc. Over the years as I've had my LC worked on they seem to have gone missing. Any insight what's missing and the part # to replace them?

Finally solved the AC fluid leak, $683.00 later, had my local shop do it as AC repair is not one of my skill sets. Can hang meat inside now.

I do not believe you are missing any brackets for the hoses from the charcoal cannister…

But I do think that one rubber hose goes into the clip at the rear of the engine cover… as shown.
