Replaced my AHC globes in the pouring rain in about 1.25 hours. Pretreat with PB and drive a sunbelt car and it’s easy off. Spent most of the time wondering if I was supposed to have filled up the reservoir prior to to bleeding. I didn’t. Drained, bled, removed/replaced, filled and checked for bubbles. Somebody said they put the vinyl hose in a Sprite bottle they drilled the top on. I didn’t. I wish I had. The accumulator pump was not messing around and shot me with a lot of nasty oil.
My globes ended up passing the “pencil test” and the replacement still fixed the ride issues, so take that what you will.

Replaced both CV joints with factory new. Replaced rear brake pads to include the parking brake shoes with factory new parts. Added two bottles of Sea Foam and solved the occasional missing problem.

2001 lx470 330k Timing belt, water pump, idler pulleys with new sealed thred bolt, timing tensioner, thermostat, radiator, condenser, ac compressor, ignition coils, plugs, valve cover gaskets, pcv valve and grommet, radiator hoses, fan clutch, fan bracket, and one replaced 2pin fuel injector connection.

Replaced all rear sway bar bushings on our ‘04 (this unfortunately didn’t solve the clatter coming from the back on bumpy roads) and replaced the passenger side downstream O2 sensor (again) in the hope of getting rid of the last remaining code—bought Toyota this time instead of denso after having a denso one fail after only 18 mos.

Check out how deformed one of the sway bar bushings brackets had gotten in almost 200k miles!

Added factory tie-downs to our ‘99 JDM—apparently PO had removed them?🤷🏼 That was a hard part number to track down…

After nearly overheating on the way home I did what I should of done when I replaced my radiator a week ago. New thermostat and new silicone hoses. Old hoses were no longer sealing and the thermostat was CLAPPED. Went from 208⁰ with both heaters running to 189⁰ sitting in the driveway with the A/C blasting and reving the piss out of it.
(Air temp of 108 btw)

@Phat1842Many we are on the same repair plan.

I don’t often drive my wife’s LX, but I took it to hunt a few weeks ago and heard an awful noise. Needless to say we got our money’s worth out of these pads and rotors.

While I was trying to replace rotors and pads (in a hurry the morning we were leaving town on a 26hr road trip) I pressed the brake to release the shift lock 🤦🏻‍♂️. Dumb move and the piston went past the inner seal. As I was pressing the piston back in, it ripped the inner o-ring and that was the end of that.

Had to abandon the rear brake job and pivot to the Tundra. Ordered new calipers to go with the new rotors & pads. The rear bleeder screws, caliper bolts etc etc were pretty rusty crusty anyway.

Any info on that shade tarp on your LX? That looks handy
That is two tarps together. Simple Ozark Trail brand from Walmart.

Also always interesting to drive my wifes car! "No, I don't hear that!" "Oh, thought that's normal!" "Oh, that's already there for a long time!"

:-D

Me on the other hand hears noises that aren't there and is paranoid about every little squeak.

"Honey, can you point your hand on various things back there and see what's squeaking so I can fix it later?"

With you!!! Totally! :-D

Looks like those cone washers pissed you off too huh. 🤣
Oh yeah! The threads got a little messed up from tapping the washers out, and my tap didn't fit the stud, so I chopped the end off! :bang:

Been chasing the driver’s side door movement when driving in undulating rough pavement, changed out the driver and front passenger weather seal. Door definitely shuts more like a thud now and drove around things seem a bit more "sealed"

Heater T delete! Thanks Cruiser Patch for the kit!
