Last week, my daughter was driving the LX and got the dreaded " ABS & Brake dash indicators " along with the annoying buzzer in the cabin letting me know the brakes failed. Yesterday I replaced the ABS brake booster motor and all is well. The original motor made it 247,000 miles. We will see how long this one lasts.

Added a new 3 inch dump pipe and exhaust to my jdm turbo diesel. It makes a big difference in power and improved mpg.

I also have a turbo diesel and I want to replace the exhaust line. Did you install 3" straight from the turbo to the end? Did you leave any muffler or catalytic converter?

I gather that the car became "lighter and looser"

The common denominator I’ve seen in 100s for the abs failure is the presence of rust/corrosion. This is one of my recommended pre-purchase items to check to my friends looking to buy one so they can negotiate more on the price as this is not a cheap repair. Nicely done.

If I would have let the Toyota or Lexus dealership do this repair, it would have easily cost around $4k. Since I did the job after watching a few YT videos some cruiser brothers put out, it only cost me $75.00 and around 3hrs of my own time on a Saturday...plus three minutes for the buzzer to finally shut off

Well done! And since we are in the conversation of brakes, wanted to share it’s a wrap for me. Did the bleed the other day and the system is air-free fluid level is on point, used total of 2 liters of Motul DOT5 brake fluid.

Currently working on the rear hitch receiver, started the bumper cutting process but I have to wait tomorrow for our local hardware to get the stainless M12x1.25x50mm bolts. Also ordered a pair of rear mudflaps eliminators from LandCruiserPhil while at it.

Yes, I had to source a 3 inch down pipe that bolts directly to the turbo outlet flange. I added a Borla hi flow muffler but I think I could have gotten away with just straight piping the whole thing. I was worried about sound levels around my neighbors. The car is much faster off the line and I can feel it pulling way stronger going up hills.

Went camping in Holcomb Valley. That's twice in 1 month! Recently installed a vidalmetalworx 100 front bumper. He's in SoCal. It's a really nice bumper, and fits great. He also makes DIY weld kits. I was lucky and he had one in stock, ready to bolt on (minor trimming needed for LX470).

New oem steering rack with new PS pump, reservoir, d bushing, and outer tie rods. Aftermarket low/high pressure lines. The intermediate shaft u joints are floppy so ordered a new oem shaft.

Doug Thorley headers with oem gaskets, studs,
And nuts.

Also, filled Aisin fan clutch with 30k CST and set first opening at 120 degrees. I replaced the fan clutch last Nov 2023 but temps would creep at idle ~210 degrees in middle of summer here in Texas where we see 100+. The fan clutch was under filled from the factory, which became apparent in the summer. I installed all new cooling Nov 2023: radiator, tstat, water pump, hoses, fan + clutch.

Decided to tackle my AC button. I ordered a kit off eBay and followed along with the guy on YouTube. I wasn't hard work just very time consuming. I got a cheap soldering kit off Amazon and I think that's were my problems started. It took over an hour to remove the original button. I had planned to do all of them but after that debacle I settled on the AC and the Off button. I also swapped out a few of the lights for LED ones and this is what I got. I plan to reinstall the original lights and call it a life. this was my first time soldering so I had no idea what I was doing. Again, not hard just time consuming with subpar tools. On the bright side the AC button works now. I should have done this years ago but was too scared to.

Nice mod, I have to do the same. My exhaust line already has many seams and I have to replace it

thats my buddies shop, he had a company come in and do epoxy floor coating. It been down for probably 5 years now and holding up great but i know it wasnt cheap

I purchased an aftermarket part off Amazon.
From what I could find, and anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no OEM part number. Their is a set of number stamped on the motor, but it didn't bring anything up. My understanding from the videos I watched, is that Toyota will only sell a full ABS master cylinder and not just the motor.

Well, I took Aaron through the car wash before taking the wife out for dinner last night. I did not realize both sunroof drains were clogged. Shortly after leaving the car wash water started dripping on my head and feet. Took the wife to dinner anyways and the horn started going off and noticed the fog lights were stuck on. Pulled the horn relay to clear. So today I am drying him out. Ugh!

Pulled out the headliner on our JDM UZJ so the paint less dent repair wizard can repair some hail damage. I was waaay too worried about the rear AC control—it came off in my hand quite easily once the rest of the headliner was loose….

Previous owner or something had busted the cam cover. I finally got around to replacing it. Anyone know the rationale behind having this cover composed of both hard plastic and the rubber cap area?

Also found that shop who did PO’s timing belt did not route the cam position sensor wire correctly. It did not cause MIL but it was not something I wanted to repair. New one on the way from UAE.
