Just tidying up the upper portion of the engine now that the cam gaskets were repalced. changed out the PCV even though the old one still jiggles but I didnt have a record of it being replaced by PO it's under $20 so figured might as well replace it. I'm glad they went with the screw on type PCV vs the previous iteration that had the little rubber seal that would get old and cracked and would fall apart and into the cam cover. Also replaced the ventilation hose going from the cam into the intake as those hoses were old and cracked.

Sidenote: the PCV has thread seal on it and getting the old one off was scary, i had to use an adjustable wrench and a pipe to slowly break the thread seal.

FYI

There is another ventilation cover that goes at the top of the throttle body…

Shown here on mine…

That has got to be the cleanest engine bay I've ever seen! Nice job!
Very nice indeed! On the note of cleaning engine bays. This was this week.

You definitely got the right color ;)
Best advice I'd give to myself if I buy a stock 100 series, is to keep it as stock as possible. Every mod you make is a compromise and unless you absolutely need the mod, it is not worth it. Just baseline all the fluids and wear items and enjoy it.
100% agree.
Honestly, it was harder finding a bone stock one for sale, than someone's "overlanding" rig. I thought I had pretty reasonable goals, 03+, bone stock, 200k or less, at least a 8/10 interior and exterior, good maintenance, carfax, and owner history, rust free, and under $15k. After a lot of searching this was the closest I could find. It's not perfect, but I can more than work with it.
Once I get home, baseline it, get the AHC pressures dialed in (it rides and drives fine, but the rear seems a bit low and is a bit soft, I bet it's time for springs).
I wanted to pull off the running boards but I've fallen for those damn tube lights.
I was going to go 33's, but I think I'll toss on the 32's (275/65/18's) AT3's off my LR3 on for now.

Installed a set of seat back replacements from Plaidwagon - https://www.plaidwagon.co/. When I ordered, I contacted Kyle about getting a set to match my tan interior. Since it was a color he had been considering, he whipped them up and they look awesome. It took me a bit to get the seat backs off, but thanks to a couple of YouTube videos, I did not break anything.

Ok, that does it! I've been considering a set of these. Now's the time to pull the trigger.
