I installed a GROM VLine VL2 in my 2003 LX470 with factory nav yesterday. So far, it is working flawlessly, and it was easy to install. I would have been happy with a Bluetooth input, but my wife was cool enough to allow me to sell her 2022 Kia minivan and replace it with a twenty year old 4x4, the only condition being that the "new" car had to have Carplay. Th VL2 has two camera inputs. It will be nice to have a backup, and possibly a front facing, camera. Installing the camera(s) will be my next project.

The screen resolution is better than you'd expect based on the appearance of the maps when using the factory nav system. For some reason, I can't post a picture. I got it down to 867 KB, and I get a message that it is too large.
Hell yeah! I’ve been looking at those and glad to see one on here like it.

I didn’t do them myself, but sourced the accumulator globes from Japan and a front axle, got them done at the Lexus dealership. The technicians were highly interested in your cheat sheet @suprarx7nut

Unloaded the pressures are right on the money at 6.9, before they were 8.4 on the front. And now it has 11 gradations instead of 6-7. Ride is way better now. Axle was slinging grease everywhere, so got that done along with the drive flange.

Now I’m ready to add some weight! Rock sliders are being made, ordered them on Black Friday, then I need to pick out a steel or aluminum front bumper, and get a rear tire carrier and roof basket. Progress!

White Knuckle?
Yeah, I love these @white-knuckleoffroad sliders, they are tough as nails and I regularly test them out.
A while ago I bought the top plate from them because I was sick of my kids feet getting stuck. But the p clips that came with it weren't very durable. So I took them off and had someone weld the top plate on and spray some coating paint on it.

Mine are on the way with the rear diamond plate. Probably be here late January

Made a quick trip to KCMO to get a new Valley Tech Fabrication bumper installed. I love how it turned out.

Finished install of Ironman suspension kit -> specifically the IM Torsion Bars and IM diff drop. She now sit about 4cm higher than before. Could not re-suse the front torque arms... the one didnt want to budge and the other in bad shape. The torque swivel arms were in good enough state and i put them back in vehicle. For bonus points also did the heater tee's and hoses - is there a bleeding procedure for when doing that job?

To bleed the cooling system when the truck is cold.
Park with the front uphill or jack up the front slightly.
Rad cap off and heater on.
You can rev the engine to 2500 or so rpms to get the coolant moving.
Watch the coolant level and fill as needed.
Button up everything and drive around the block.
Recheck after it cools down.

Cranked up the torsion bars to give a 2" lift for the new Valley Tech bumper. I will be able to stay with stock torsion bars. The rear will get a 3" lift when I move the Dobinsons suspension.

How do you like those SCS wheels? Specs?
Love them. These are the classic F5s. I've been running them since 2020. Love the lightweight.

Changed oil on the LC which was long overdue.
This time I noticed that
Swd Rheinol Primus GM (German make)
SAE 5W-30 full synthetic
oil was used during the change.
Also, new engine air filter was put in

Continuing the baselineing of my 06 LC w/200k miles. Cooling was fine, antifreeze was fine, but noticed some slight discoloration in the top cap of the rad so I decided to take advantage of the recent parts sales and got a US spec OEM radiator. Front side wasn't bad, and not too much debris.

Back side wasn't bad either...

But, upper inlet neck under the hose! Small chunk missing and super brittle.

All hoses, clamps, and heater tees replaced (tees were OK as they had been replaced once already). System was drained and flushed with distilled water twice following procedure found here, front and rear heaters cycled on high and block drains flowed each time...second flush was super clear. Oh, and thermostat replaced as well. Runs great and have topped off after two heat/cool cycles. Not a drop leaking from anywhere. Very glad to have preemptively done this!
