Tried swapping around tires with my spare last night to fix a rear-end shake/vibration to no avail. Next up is to pull the driveshaft, lock the diff, and see if it goes away in 2WD.

275k miles. It wasn't dead yet just bleeding externally from the headgaskets. Ran fine but it wasn't something I was comfortable taking on long trips off grid.How many miles?

Probably just age. After 20 years the headgaskets just had enough. Having a spare motor sitting in the corner of the garage ready to go in made it an ez decision.
