Yes indeed. I ordered the material yesterday.^^Good time to consider insulating the tank as well for the ever popular boiling fuel during the summer season/high elevation road trips on the 100.
What is the issue? My first issue with my LC100 popped up today.![]()
What is the issue?
Glad you got home safe and no issues. Curious to know the age/mileage of your CV? And if you are going to rebuild or replace the sub assy.^ Found my CV was slinging grease too- happened somewhere in Colorado and didn’t catch it till I got home-
Kinda of a surgical looking separation of the boot-

You can buy a nice scan tool for less than $250I read everything online. Tried everything except MC replacement it might be that. I checked all fuses sensors including abs speed sensor tried pulling code but nothing. I’m thinking it’s the MC but that’s just I read. Ill get the gas cap today and see. I love this tank we went to the waterfall and crossed the river my kid was like dad your race car can’t do this lol . Just got off phone with Toyota 250 for diagnostic

In the photo, Is your truck in 4lo? VSC lights will illuminate when in 4lo. But I think the ABS light should trigger a code? Mechanical issue with the gear position switch at the transfer case? I’m just thinking out loud here.i do. I pulls nothing no codes
Another resource…i do. I pulls nothing no codes
Replaced both cv axles 49k miles ago in sept 2017. These are OEM.Glad you got home safe and no issues. Curious to know the age/mileage of your CV? And if you are going to rebuild or replace the sub assy.
Thank you I’ll check appreciate the help. The brake fluid looks new brake pads are full. I’ll check the transfer case sensor . Still not pulling any codes Toyota says bring it in but if I can’t codes what are they gonna do?In the photo, Is your truck in 4lo? VSC lights will illuminate when in 4lo. What is the condition of your brake fluid/ has it ever been changed? What color is it? Brake pads extremely worn?
Brake fluid should be COMPLETELY replaced every 2-3 year’s maximum interval… per the owner’s manual and FSM. More frequently if water crossing up to the hood line.
Perhaps a good brake fluid flush and replacement would give you a baseline to start from. Little components can get gummed up in frozen in place with old and unserviced brake fluid.
This is how I did mine…
Please make sure you do not overfill the brake reservoir… read below.

Did a brake fluid flush/ complete replacement. The engine off, I used a Turkey baster to remove as much fluid as I could from the reservoir. Then I pumped the brake pedal 40 times to relieve all pressure and fluid from the accumulator. The fluid level in the brake reservoir rose a little over 1”. Used a turkey baster with a small hose attached to slip through the forward slot and into the bottom of the reservoir… was able to remove all but 1” of the reservoir fluid. Refilled with fresh DOT3. Then hooked up my power bleeder filled with more fresh DOT3. Power bleeder pumped up to 25 foot pounds. Opened each brake bleeder individually until it ran clear.
But I do not have tech stream so as to clean out the old brake fluid from the ABS system reservoir. Other members had spoken of finding an open field to haul ass and stomp the brakes to activate the ABS… But I thought to myself, self, why not let A-Trac activate the ABS to flush the fluid? So I did… I went to my local giant earthen berm parking lot, and rolled up a very loose and steep dirt hill… Four wheel low, center diff locked, and let A-Trac do its business to try and help me climb…
Came back home and, using the power bleeder again, I flushed all 4 wheels brake bleeders one more time… after a few ounces of clear fluid, I actually got some more discolored fluid out until it ran clear again.
As it sits now, the reservoir fluid is completely new and clear, and I feel confident that >99% of the fluid in the brake pistons, brake lines, accumulator and ABS has been exchanged for new fluid.
Make sure that you only fill up to the mid-point between the low and high marks on the reservoir… if you fill all the way to the High mark maximum line, if the ABS activates, it will overflow the brake reservoir. Then that brake fluid will leak down onto the electrical connectors and cause corrosion. I packed my brake electrical connections with dielectric grease as suggested by other members.
FYI, Many code readers, including mine, dont have the capbility of reading ABS codes. Are you sure yours does?Thank you I’ll check appreciate the help. The brake fluid looks new brake pads are full. Ohhhh I see. Maybe mines don’t. It was only 150 at Napa so I just grabbed it. I’ll check again thank you.FYI, Many code readers, including mine, dont have the capbility of reading ABS codes. Are you sure yours does?
If not, there may be a code in the system even though nothing shows up on your device.
