had a short, but hard fought battle with the front diff bushings on Sunday. 95% of clunk is gone now. 220k on the originals.

Landed a new job with a substantial pay raise so treated myself by pulling the trigger on ARB front and rear bumpers and a GOBI stealth rack with sunroof insert :smokin: No idea how long they'll take to get to me but if it's less than a calendar year I'll be happy.

Definitely not sexy but had to replace the Throttle Body (TB) this weekend b/c of P1126 error. Didn't go into limp but had a rough idle and couldn't clear the code and get it to stay away.

I'd call it a 1.5  job only b/c the belts were melted on a bit so getting those detached was a pain. FSM was huge asset here to walk me through it. Only step I didn't take was the draining the engine coolant. Used a toothbrush to plug the line instead. Spillage was minimal and well worth saving the time.

Here's to another 200k miles on the new TB.

Im still avoiding this job even though its 100% needed. When you say short, are we talking an hour or 8 hours?

I replaced my front shocks and stabilizer links. I'm no mechanic but the job went pretty smooth. Just needed a little heat for a few of the nuts and bolts. Went with OEM parts. One of the shock bushings was basically gone. The other was in pretty good shape. All cushions were garbage. The stabilizer link cushions were all bad too, very brittle. I have new stabilizer bar bushings as well but didn't end up doing those as the current ones don't look too bad.

I only put a few miles on it after the job, but can definitely feel the difference/improvement in ride and noise.

173k miles on my 04 LC. Not sure if these were original shocks and links or not.

Going to do the rear shocks and new springs tonight (OME 2860). I have some aftermarket rear stabilizer links, but haven't decided if they'll get installed yet as the current ones actually look pretty good.

Each time I complete something like this, I feel more and more confident about doing other things to my LC. A big thank you to those who contribute to this site.

It's not actually too bad, maybe took 2-3 hours total while drinking a beer and taking my time. Used a hammer and chisel to start the gap in the metal bushing sleeve, then power tools to finish it off. Just replaced the 2 front bushings, left the rear.

Yeah @Tanner H go for it. Once you get the bushing started, it comes off pretty easy. Freeze the new bushing in your freezer overnight and lube it up before inserting, should go in easier too!

Finally got the front bumper body work and paint finished a couple of days ago. Next, those chipped side mirrors, probably after memorial weekend.

Developed a chirping when the engine in my 2003 is cold, so dug into the tensioner and idler pulleys following instructions here.

Old and new idler pulleys. Other than a bit of dirt, the original felt fine.

Ordered the entire tensioner, but got lazy after finding the tension good, so simply harvested the pulley. I didn't know there was a 1320 version, but that's great since that's how I live my life...you know, a quarter mile at a time.

Found the old serpentine belt had more cracks than I was comfortable with (despite the FSM saying small cracks are OK). Found one at the local dealership who matched an online price and I was able to pick up immediately.

Took all of 15 minutes too install...however looking at this picture, I probably should also address that seeping thermostat housing...oh well.

Fired the engine up and the birdsong was gone! Always nice when simple fixes go simply.

Front and Rear Lockers in. Regeared to 4.88, still on 33s. Still (trying to) gently breaking in gears but acceleration already feels way more responsive. Time to go cruise the mall.

Redarc charger in. 180W solar panel on rack, more as proof of concept, I don't like how much space it takes.

Iggee seat covers. I was very pleased with the set on my last truck and these look great too!

I didn't do this, but I paid to have it done. That counts, right?
Had a local fabricator make me a hitch receiver that bolts onto my 4x4labs bumper swingout, to use for mounting my bike rack. So much better than mounting to the bumper. Very happy with it. Just needs powdercoat.

I love this idea! I have an ISI rack on order and am debating if it would be a good idea to weld a hitch receiver on the right side swing out.
How many bikes do you carry? My only concern is that with 4 bikes it might shake a lot compared to being mounted on the immovable hitch receiver.

I normally carry just 1-2 bikes. I haven't purchased the +2 add-on, but might at some point. Isn't the ISI rack custom made to order based on your receiver position, tire location, etc.? I haven't even tried this setup out yet, but the rack is rock solid on the car and I have no concerns about shaking. We'll see. I'm sure someone with the Dissent bike rack option can comment on this also.

I have the 1up rack on my Dissent bumper. I've carried 4 bikes on it. But with four bikes, I add a ratchet strap to the roof rack to take some of the weight off the swing arm. I don't do that with two bikes, but four seems pretty heavy with all the weight pulling down and away on the latch. The weight isn't a problem for the arm itself. I can swing it open and it's totally fine. I'm just paranoid that the strain might cause the latch to let go. It adds an extra step to getting into the back, but it's not a big deal. Feels totally solid like that and I've done it several times without issue.

Installed the Borla cat-back exhaust this morning. It’s sounds quieter than before. Probably because my stock exhaust was falling apart. A bit more throaty under throttle. But pretty mild.

I’m not loving the blingy tail pipe. I think it’s gonna get squashed on my first trip out. Meh
