This week, took her to hang out with some friends.

The mud terrains made a big difference over my old Cooper ST Maxxx.

Upgraded the puny little battery. Group 49 AGM from O'Reilly Auto parts. They price matched the Duracell Group 49 AGM from Sam's CLub. After looking at the sticker on the battery it is exactly the same as the Sam's Duracell. Probably rolls off the same conveyor belt. Also did the Alt-S fuse to LittleFuse Diode mod. Alternator went from 14.22 to 14.71 according to my handy-dandy Fluke meter.

What are the details on the diode mod?

So basically you just replace the 7.5 amp fuse in the ALT-S slot with LittleFuse part Number 02400113XP. You have to shave off a little plastic "ear" on the new part so it is the same shape as a regular mini-fuse so it fits the slot. It tricks the alternator into thinking the load is heavier than it really is giving you approximately a .5 volt increase in charging. This is needed when going from a regular lead-acid battery to an AGM-type battery so it will charge correctly. Make sure you install it in the correct direction or you will have no charge to your battery. That's bad...

Thanks! I have switched to an AGM. Whenever I switch the Hundy for another vehicle and it sits for about a week, the battery is usually dead. Need to do a little reading on the AGM.

got a link for the diode?

This is a dumb question but... if I put a front license plate on my 2000 LX do I literally just drill it into those little indentations?
Those indentations take a course threaded machine screw that is designed to self thread the bumper lining and secure your license plate in place. I just picked mine up from the parts department at my local dealership. I think it was less than $5 for the pair. Just tell the parts person that you need to mount the front license plate, and they will know what you screws you need.

I bought from a vendor off Ebay.

King Springs

Thanks for the link. Do you carry extra weight in the rear? '

If not, how do they ride with no extra weight? And what do your AHC pressures look like?

I carry a roof rack and tent, and a rear drawer system and thinking of doing this
