I guess the previous owner didn’t plan on battery replacement. They didn’t spare the glue... Thanks YodaMD! New case and battery and the spare key is a regular user.

This week was about taking care of some deferred maintenance. The e-locker hasn't been working for while and the shocks were getting a bit bouncy, so time to get underneath. Then the fun started...

Putting the CV joints aside for the moment, I completed the installation of new OME Nitrocharger Sport shocks and replaced the e-locker actuator with a new one. I'm a bit frustrated with the locker though. Now the indicator light is blinking, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I got done with it around dark last night, so haven't had a chance to test it except in my cul-de-sac. Anyway, I'm going to check out the position switch today and at least rule that out. Any ideas for what the problem might be?

Added some new mud flap eliminators from @LandCruiserPhil. I give these 3/5 stars...easy install, shipped quickly, gave me more clearance. Would have liked for them to also connect to the additional bracket on the fender for a little more support. You can see the bracket I'm talking about to the left in the picture. The original mud flaps also connect to these.

Took a week off to go backpacking and camping. Did the easy part of the Rubicon trail from Tahoma, and then spent a couple nights in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Hit up some side trails on the drive back down to SoCal. Needless to say, this rig is a beast.

Can you guys guess what the most expensive part of this trip was? 😂

wished my paint looked half as good in photos.

I had a big weekend last week. Dobinsons drawers in, Test fit rear Scheel Manns before making brackets, installed a Rig'd tultraswing, did a complete audio install Alpine 650, 2X MB Quart amps, 8" Hifonics sub, 4x 5.25 door speakers, ordered a front runner slimline 2, and this weekend will get Metaltech 4x4 rear trailing arms installed.

You know if you've got room to move those seats outboard a bit more, you can drop a small fridge between them.

Dometic CD30 or an Alpicool 15L might both fit.

that goes in the back on the slide, seats will move outward a bit, thats as far as I can go until the base plate is made as the seats hit wheelwell trim/molding just sitting in there. Im thinking a small center console with USB, cupholders etc.

Installed the TT Diff Drop and the Ironman Bars that finally came in 3 weeks after my original shipment arrived. Need to replace the outer tie rods because the boots are torn and the lower ball-joints and I should be able to get an alignment!

Installed Trail Tailor diff drop. EZ mod, and actually made a difference. Was experiencing some slight front end vibrations around 30-40mph under acceleration. My hub to fender is about 21 3/4" since gutting AHC and installing TD. Still running original CV's. Lowering them a bit will hopefully make them last a few more miles.

The heater Ts, upper coolant hose and t-stat housing all had coolant seeps so I replaced the heater ts, upper and lower hoses with oem clamps, replaced the t-stat and o-ring. The T-stat housing had some pitting where it was seeping coolant from so I put some FIPG on it.

So I just learned that just because something is OEM Toyota does not mean it is not defective. Late last year I noticed my radiator cap was leaking a little. SO I ordered a replacement from the local Toyota dealer. It was only $12, so not bad. In the mean time I had to occasionally add coolant to the overflow reservoir. Never enough to leave any residue anywhere, definitely never any puddles. In the back of my mind I thought "could it be my new cap?", no, no way. I figured since I was about to do the timing belt and water pump service very soon that I would replace whatever it was that was causing a very small loss of coolant. So back in July (?) I did the TB service, TB, water pump, thermostat, tensioner, accessory belt, all clamps and hoses. All with OEM Toyota parts. Still losing a small amount of fluid. WTF? I immediately laid blame on myself. I must have done something wrong. It could not possibly be factory parts. After inspecting my work (impeccable to be honest) on a gut feeling, I ordered another cap from the same dealership ($10.50 this time for some reason?). Sure enough problem gone. Moral of the story, if you have experience repairing your own vehicles, trust your gut feelings. Your experience will whisper things to you.

Wasn't quite this week, was actually last week, but - threw out the old clunky 8 year old 1.5" OME lift kit and had a new set up consisting of Radflo 2.5 extended travel shocks w/ resi's and adjusters, OME 2863's, SPC/Nolathane links and Slee/Spidertrax spacers installed at my friendly neighbourhood workshop.

Took her for a 1100mi shake down roadtrip to Arizona and loving the stability/handling at highway speeds and performance offroad.

Only issue now is the 275/65/18's look too small, and bigger tires are "needed" :hmm:

Might need to tweak the t-bars to level out the rake more, but really enjoying the way she's handling for now. Will let the springs settle and see how 275/70's look first.

I got a bad OEM radiator cap for my Tacoma from the dealer last year. It can happen.

Finished installing the rear bumper swing arms. Still need to run the wiring. Will be installing the suspension lift later in November. WKOR sliders in December.
