Kicking myself for not going lol. Ya'll went to Sisters huh?
Just for a bit on our way East. Just long enough for people to warm up with some coffee, hit a real restroom, and cool off with some ice cream. Day One was up in the Cascades, having a blast on some OHV trails. Day Two was a great impromptu trip to the hills near Smith Rock. Great trip. You'll have to hit the next one. Maybe we could knock off some of the HIH Covid Scavenger Hunt missions this summer.

I let Phillip know to hit me up next time there's a meet-up/event.

Like I told Phillip, I wasn't feeling testing my CV rebuild capabilities on a 2-day remote OHV trip lol.

I replaced my CVs and put on new SPC upper control arms on Thursday. Alignment at 9:00 a.m. Friday and out the door by lunch time. :smokin:

I feel you, though. I was a little nervous about making the trip, but it was all good.

That’s really cool mate! Did this dual volt meter come with some type of wiring and instructions also?

Yes mate, it's pre-wired with 60cm / 2-foot tails and straight forward install, 2x red and 2x black, run one black and red to each of the batteries (though you'll need extra cable, I used about 8m of twin-core 7A wire that I had lying here to do both mine). Specs say it draws 14mA so I suppose you could have it switched.... but I didn't see any need.

I installed the Slee group 31 battery tray and an Interstate 31agm battery the other day.
Forgot to take pics, but it was a relatively straightforward process. Closing the hood for the first time was a little nerve wrecking though!

Heater tees...

This week we put some new tyres and springs in, and we put in a neat little dual battery / voltage monitor that fits nicely into the OEM Toyota switch recess.

Was on Toyo Open Country AT1 33's (285/75/16) with 2" Dobinson springs

Now on Toyo Open Country RT 35's (315 75 16) with 3" Dobinsons springs

LINK FOR DUAL VOLT METER
This little voltmeter looks nice and (I think) almost looks like it could be factory fitment.
G'day from WA. Great rig like the new 35s. How are the TOYOs like for driving?

Does the dual battery volt meter have simple wiring for connecting up. Been looking for something like this.

His answer to the first person who posed that question is four posts up...

and here’s a similar item in the US, also with dead simple wiring:

Toyo's are [insert everything people are likely to say about their preferred tyre / brand], but seriously, didn't notice any extra noise or even any extra fuel switching to the bigger RT's. They're very nice, quiet on the hwy, equally excellent in the mud, on rocks and in the dunes. The AT1's did +100K over 10yrs and not a single puncture or repair in all that time, still had ~6mm tread remaining when I swapped in these RT's. Bloody great tyre imo.

Installed clear corner depot lamps from @ranma21
Very easy to work with and showed up quick. Install took less then 1 beer. My old ones had dried up puddles of mud in them.

oh they RTs. Got talked out of those cos tyrepower said customer got a puncture in one (no kidding). Sounds like they are fine however.
WHat sort of balancer in them , equal flex? have you noticed the difference with that stuff ? I probably had beads in old one, not sure if it was this stuff.
Seems to improve fuel consumption, rolling resistance etc. Wonder how long that stuff has been around tbh

Made a little more progress on "I only have three friends and I like my drinks cold."

Then realized that I don't have another Lexus seat to butcher, so I'm gonna have mismatched rear seats until such time as I order new covers.

very cool! I'm sure a upholstery shop could clean that butcher job right up...

I'm pretty sure I can make what I have look clean, but now that the seats are in I can see that the Lexus seat is cut way differently than the Toyota seat. Round hump in the back vs squares.

Installed @BenCC plate for 2 Blue Sea USB ports

Where did you run your power? I'm going to install a BlueSea fuse block in the rear cabin and run my power to that. I've got 10 gauge cable coming from the battery to the block and then grounded the block to the frame. Figure I'll run 16 gauge wiring for the plugs.

IIRC you are still on a single battery setup? I would be very curious to see how you run the cable and what your experience is with running a fridge and other stuff off on a series 49 SLA battery.

I have run a single battery setup (NAPA Legend75 Series 49) for 2+ years now. Fridge is run directly to the battery using the ARB wiring kit and plug. My aux lights run via a Voswitch JL100 (previously ran a 6 switch Amazon kit) which is mounted in the space the AHC reservoir/pump previously resided. I've mounted the 6 fuse panel in the rear cab now and run the power directly from the battery with the ground to the chassis. I have the power to the fuse panel inline fused just aft of the battery connection and again just before the panel itself (probably overkill). I'm going to rewire my 2 aux ports on the lower front console (cig lighter and dual USB) to the rear panel vs running off the "native" OEM wiring.

Hi Geanes-For now I tapped into the 12V plug inside the front console. They will only be used to charge a cell phone or two when the kids ride in the middle seat. I am planning to eventually run a dedicated wire from the battery to fuse block in the rear cabin as well.
