Finally finished my DIY tactical overlund expo storage drawers I started over last Thanksgiving. Covered it with carpet, cut the wings and added hinges us built the second drawer today. Does it look fancy; decidedly not. Does it work; absolutely. Mostly used crap I had laying around besides the uhmw-hdpe for slides and linch pins I used as catches.

New fuel vapor hose part# 2382950070, OE fresh. The old one was pretty brittle, also replaced the clamps, part# 9613251300 X2. Almost have all the rubber under the hood replaced at this point, how can you not enjoy attention to the details!? Also replaced gas cap with OE part# 7730028010 and all of the fender apron clips with part # 904671086 X 16 & 9046705111 X 2.

I really need to delete my ih8mud account....this is getting out of hand. So...

1. Grom V-line VL2 - Seems to work great other than mic doesn’t work for phone calls. My expectations were fairly low going in and I am impressed with the touch response and processing speed.

2. Cobra CB Radio & Firestik Antenna - In preparation for HIHX or HIHX 2.0.

3. Hikari LED 9006 Headlight Bulbs - Haven’t done any night driving but these will be a big improvement.

4. Slee backup camera relocate mount - Necessary? Probably not, but it’s a nice to have.

5. LC200 Style Tail Lamps with built-in LEDs - I think they look okay, would prefer no chrome. Outer LEDs plug and play and the inner LEDs are not working with the factory pigtails (fit fine but no light).

6. Slee RotoPax SwingOut - I was looking for a way to let people know Land Cruisers are like Jeeps but with less sunshine. Also a good way to add more weight to keep the gas stations in business ;)

7. Blue Ridge Overland Gear Attic -https://www.blueridgeoverlandgear.com/products/toyota-landcruiser-attic

8. Depo 1 piece head lamps - Not yet installed

@nitteo Sick ride! Looks like we're going similar routes with our builds (other than the killer paint job)!

295/70R18 Falkens arrived last week.
18" 200 Series wheels arrived today. Hoping to powder coat them next Friday. Thinking a texture black we have.
Also have 1.25" Bora spacers on order.

Can you switch the leads on the inner ones? you know how LEDs can be, smh... :bang:

First post, owned since last September but just getting around to changing a few things.

1. New 275/70R18 Falken Wildpeaks this week. Great ride and no road noise.

2. Rear mudflap delete. Thanks to LandcruiserPhil’s easy to mount mudflap eliminators, the mud flaps were simple to replace. I love the new look.

3. The ubiquitous running board delete.

I like your style...

Bought a new headlight, and side marker light! A quick project that should make a huge difference! Next, should probably be a pair of hood struts!

Definitely need hood struts!

More "very bad" stuff:

Chinese eBay/Amazon temporary headlights, until I can fix the condensation issue, and convert factory lights over to HID/LED:

I'm hoping 2 Chinese headlights are better than one OE headlight, but maybe that's wishful thinking...

Out with the OE Michelins, and in with the KO2s (along with the LCP mud flap delete)...

After pulling the alternator, I had a mess with oil and grit soaked wiring harnesses.

1590203471458.png

Took the old wiring apart and cleaned it.

1590203533793.png

It wouldn't take much for the wires to start breaking down after running in the grit.

1590203602428.png

Cleaned the wires and wrapped in F4 Silicone Tape. Then put the wrapped wires in flex conduit and wrapped it again.

All wires will have a double layer of F4 Silicone Tape

The idea is to have a wiring harness that is airtight, waterproof, and oil proof.

Double wrapped alternator and O2 sensor wiring harness.

Took the newly rebuilt Denso 100a alternator from Rock Auto apart to check out the brushes.

I ordered a spare set of brushes to keep for when those wear down some years from now.

In case I need to swap brushes some weekend in the future, I don't want to playing a guessing game to figure out the correct type.

Brush protector guard and bumper.

1590204261611.png

Put it back together and did some polishing. I will spray it with a clear coat so the aluminum finish will be easy clean and to keep it from becoming ratty looking years from now.
