Truck kept coming close/actually stalling when starting cold so I decided to take the throttle body off and take a look. Wow was it dirty! Used some throttle body cleaner, toothbrush, and soft sos pad to clean it up. Turned out nice. Fired it up and what a difference. Was idling around 500-600rpm now closer to 700-800. Feels much better. Just got the heater T's in so I'll probably tackle that this weekend.

I'm betting that washer is intended to go over the lower shock stud before you install the shock.

That's kinda what I was thinking as well... it does show it as an "option" in the instructions but the OEM bolt that comes out has a huge washer on it already. So maybe it's to apply pressure to the bushings?

It would be on the opposite side of the shock bushing from the stock nut/washer (put this washer on the lower stud BEFORE you put the shock/bushing on). My assumption is that it's likely there to compress the bushing a bit extra. It could also be to help with clearance between the axle housing and shock body since it would space the shock out slightly.

Today I purchased a set of seats from a 2003 cruiser I thought id bolt in, finding the wiring far different than I expected I opted to swap the cushion.
My driver seat heater was damaged and the cushion worn and when I priced an oem heater element I cried a little.
So ill recover later. On the contrary the seat pans are identical.

I have been looking for a bag for personal items on RTT. Ended using this attic mesh bag. Waiting to see how this all packs down when we leave tomorrow.

Also did a quick mod to my RTT zipper with Paracord. Makes it easier to reach over the sunroof and continue zipping

4 jack stands, bottle jack under rear diff, floor jack under central jacking point in the front. I'd take a nap under that truck with no worries. lol safety is important.

Today, I pulled the oil cooler to change the o-ring and hoses. I guarantee the hose clamps will be in an easy to reach position when I'm done.

Should I pull the housing that the oil cooler mounts mounts on? How likely is the 8 shaped o-ring in the picture to fail?

Installed all the bits to give my 04 a cabin air filter....kind of amazing it came without filters or door for said filters. nearly completed job, but discovered that Toyota sells the filters (of which to pieces are always required) singly. So I need to get one more.....

if anyone has tips on how not to have my freaking photos be sideways, I’m all ears. I try to remember to do landscape with the button to the right but can not actually be expected to do that every. stinking. time....

Well tackled the dreaded heater T's and happy I did! One of them came out not terrible with only the bell end falling off in the hose but the other closest to the drivers side was toast! It broke apart almost as soon as I touched it. Managed to get all the broken pieces out with my pick tools. Easy job just threw a workout mat on top of the engine and worked away! Thank God for this forum.

Reinstalled the RTT with a custom solution using aluminum bars and L channel cut down to make L brackets. The factory cross bars wouldn’t fit anymore with the Rago Fabrication awning brackets and to be honest the way the RTT attached to the bars was sketchy IMHO and made it sit higher than necessary. This keeps it as low as possible, uses factory load bars (which have built-in T slot channels) and so far seems very secure. Best Chinese in “The Lou” and helper in the back seat.

Yes sir figured out in case sh#t hits the fan no one’s going to help me and the only one to blame for a half a$$ prep job is me. May take a little longer but would increase my chances of keep my arm intact.

Replaced the plastic trim at the front of both rear quarter windows. Both of mine had two cracks, and were making me a bit crazy.
Haven’t seen any threads on this but suspect it’s a common problem—if a write up would be helpful I’d be happy to put one together—it’s a one-banana job but much easier after side one, as are all jobs.
Pulled the window seal on the driver’s side off completely to clean around the window. On the passenger side I just pulled the back away to clean what’s visible with the window open.
when I went to reinstall the window I was like, “hey those look like rust flakes!” So I’ll be pulling that window tomorrow afternoon and figuring out how bad the cancer is.
NorCal truck so very very rust free, but the paint here must have been compromised and all that SF rain did its thing.

I remember seeing that mine were cracked and I did manage to find a thread of people discussing it. The consensus was: it didn't cause any leaking so they were leaving it alone and that's what I did. I see you did a writeup so I might tackle this myself! Thanks!

Wired up the ARB OBA single and front locker, and it all works! Tested prior to cutting into the dash, then when wiring for real, I only got lights in the buttons and the solenoid to release, turns out the harness/ clip you put together yourself and a spade end came loose. Left enough room for a rear switch when the time comes.

Getting 315/75/16 's Cooper SST PRO's but paranoid they wont fit. Currently it has 305/70/16 's . so 33 inch to 35 inch I think

Currently has about 2 1/2 inch lift and is a FZJ105R front live axle. So thinking I will be ok for clearance.

Feel free to comment if you have done this already on this setup. 80 series has similar front setup
