What kind of hack bodyshop would paint it black around the windshield and not the color of the vehicle?

That's exactly what I had done!
Had the truck at the body shop --> had the glass tech remove the glass --> had the body shop media blast all sides of the frame, fix the surface rust and etch and prime and paint the frame --> Had all the new paint cure in a heated shop for 3 days --> had new glass and molding put it --> had it stored in a heated shop for another 24 hours

4.5 inch circular saw for the big hole and 1/2 inch holes for the bolt.
And for the A pillar mount instead of drilling holes, just use some strong elemental magnet for mounting

They said it would be hard to blend with 21year old paint. So they could either paint the roof or just a black strip at the front. I kinda like the black strip myself.

Alternator died last week. Replaced it today along with the tensioner pulley assembly and new serpentine belt, all sourced from the local Toyota dealership. Cleaned up the battery terminals whilst under the hood. Nothing sexy to photograph on this job.
Added the drawers to my air down gear up (ADGU) sleeping platform.
Believe it or not, last time I saw one of these things I was in the Soviet Union circa 1980s.
Was my grandpa’s. I used it to charge my daughters power wheels jeep last, I have better cables for it
My alternator died too (or actually the charging-relay). Along the way, it killed my AGM-battery as well...
So, I started to remove the alternator, and holy crap, that was not a pleasant job. I did not remove the fan or fan-protector, because I was a bit lazy at first, and secondly as I had removed the serpentine-belt, the nuts holding the fan was abut impossible to get off... And, no, I did not want to install the serpentine belt again... (lazy)
I got it the alternator out, and put a new one in, and had to walk 2km to the shop to buy a new battery. But now everything was in order, or so I thought...
Apparently the voltage-spike killed my HIR low-beam-bulbs. So, new bulbs is needed as well. But I opted for buying new one-piece headlights instead of buying new HIR-bulbs, as my reflectors were getting pretty dim.

Continued with the rust remediation today. I sprayed gloss black Rust-oleum Professional High Performance Enamel over top of the Rust Reformer I sprayed earlier in the week. Final step will be Fluid Film in the near future. My little buddy inspected my work and helped put the tires back on.

Did some much needed clean up. I hadn't gotten a chance to really clean my interior since August. Normally not a big deal as I'm pretty clean but that time included 2 wheeling trips, a camping trip, 2 additional road trips, and lots of time with the dog in the back seat. So, I took a trick from momma Goose and added some white vinegar to my standard interior cleaner (7:1 water/woolite). My truck smelled like a salad for about an hour but aired out nicely and feels fresh.
Also finally took the time to clean my front seat belts. For anyone who watched my build thread, you'll know how disgusting my interior was when I bought my truck about a year ago. The seat belts never did get cleaned, so they were still looking pretty grody. I had to chase the sun into my front yard for them to dry out.
Lastly, I began prepping my exterior window trim for new trim and bumper paint tomorrow. They've been getting really spotty lately and it's a very apparent eye sore on the truck. Process was simple- sand down with #0000 steel wool to leave a smooth and consistent surface. Then I rinsed very thoroughly with the pressure washer. Steel wool fibers rust in about .6 seconds when wet, so make sure it's ALL been flushed. Then, scrubbed with some degreaser and a soft bristled brush to get in to all the crevices. There will be crap in the very end spots, like where the trim terminates by the side view mirror. Don't slack here, else the paint won't stick.

Brushing clean. Interestingly, after this step, the trim looked about 75% better than when I started and some people could probably leave it here. I'm a little more particular and will be finishing up tomorrow.
I've got a few early morning errands so overnight the moisture should dribble out. I'll hit with a heat gun first to evap any remaining, mask off (this will involve lowering the windows and opening the 3rd row windows) hit it with a tack cloth and spray.

Forgot to post these pics earlier. Installed a 9” RakAttack rail for my dash setup. Super stable and nice to have all of my dash necessities easily accessible and secure. Bonus: I can put up the windscreen shade without removing anything
