After purchasing @ga12r1 adjustable Tough Dog rear shocks and Ironman foams pro fronts for HIH I was alsolutely blown away! I decided to get the 53s from Jason to match the rears. And the heavy tourflex springs.. and new 9 stage rears... Passing off the take offs to @DragoISAR

Installed everything today.. advice for those installing TD rear shocks... MAKE SURE YOUR MOUNTS ARE SUPER CLEAN AND SMOOTH, AND USE ANTI SIEZE... Had to drill out the bushings on the old ones, then cut the sleeve to get them off. New bushings are on the way

Funny meeting a couple of MUD members today. Happened to drive by while all this was going on and curiosity got the best of me. Mean looking rigs fellas.

Replaced the rear brakes the other day, about to do the fronts, just need to find a place to buy new cone washers and flange gasket.

Today I repaired the passenger window. It was only working half the time since I bought it and I've known what the issue was but finally had the time to fix it today.

Are your hands huge or is that Monopoly money?

A little late to the party (how did summer go by so fast?), but got a P0304 CEL code and replaced Toyota 90080-19027 ignition coil in cylinder 4. Earlier in the summer took her in for her first dealership service in about 70K (my friend/mechanic moved to AZ):
  • Oil and filter - Mobil 1
  • Rotated/balanced tires
  • Antifreeze
  • Air filter
  • Front, rear and t-case fluid
  • Bearings repacked
Funny - charged me extra for the skid plate removal to do some of the above.

Pulled a 6x12" u-Haul trailer completely loaded 2100 miles from northern California to Madison, WI. No problems except poor mpg which was expected. Nevada, Wyoming, and Nebraska weren't bad at 11.5 mpg but Iowa and Wisconsin were 8.5 mpg due to constant up and down the hills. The transmission was always hunting for gears. Tomorrow we start back to California unencumbered by the trailer.

Had another productive week with my 3 1/2 week old LX470

-Installed new spark plugs
-Installed Pioneer 2DIN radio
-Buffed out some scratches
-Flattened the front hub grease caps and installed the stock 18” wheels from my 200
-Installed LED low beam and fog light bulbs

very happy with the LED bulbs. Brighter than stock and still has a nice, sharp cutoff. Each bulb only draws only 1.22 amps too @ 12.6 volts vs. the stock halogen H1 @ 4.52 amps each. Flattening the front hub grease cap wasn’t enough to clear the center cap. I have 6mm slip on spacers on order to fix that.

WATCH that Mobil1 filter. I recently installed one (having only ever used OEM Toyota previously). It spit oil like crazy as there was a manufacturing defect on the o-ring and the stamped area. The replacement had the same manufacturing error (noticed before installing). Replaced with another Toyota OEM D3 and no issues whatsoever. Just an FYI. A few others on another forum indicated they saw recent issues with Mobil1 filters as well.

@Roosevelt T Looks very nice. What are the specs on the wheels and tires? Are those the OPOR sliders?

I've always used M209 filters. Which one's did you use? Total armchair automotive engineer here but I've never been a fan of the YZZs.
