Dialed in my stereo install. Figuring out the wire harness (I bought the direct connector and repinned) was almost as hard as running the dang backup camera wires. Still need to install the trim plate securely, but all works well. Stero direct to factory amp, with stock speakers. The camera is mounted inside on the rear hatch trim panel, so it looks over the 3 bike rack I have.

Got the Scangauge pretty spot on matched to the factory green color, need to work on the stereo color tone, but not a bad match.

Anyway you can snap a picture of what the reverse cam looks like at that height? I never thought about mounting it inside the cabin, and don’t like they way it looks bolted to the license plate. Thanks!

No need to replace the entire CV, but a boot kit is pretty inexpensive and would give you peace of mind that you're not killing your CV with a torn boot.
Not as inexpensive as 1/4 roll of flex seal tape, plus I didnt have to take hub/bearings and everything apart. Lot of work for something thats sole job is to keep grease in and keep water out.

The other thing I want to do is replace my front differential. Mine is a 99' and so it has the weaker 2 pinion style, and I would like to find a 2000 or later 4 pinion and do the 4.88 nitro gears and an ARB locker. Is the best way to get a 4 pinion front diff to look in classifieds here or whats probably the best way to source that? (preferable before I grenade mine which I'm sure will happen, but even if not and I'm doing the nitro gears and arb locker I might as well).

There is zero reason to find another front diff if you're going to replace your carrier with an ARB anyway.

I’m not terribly familiar with this, but won’t the two pinion system still be prone to breaking if I don’t have the diff locked and the tires spin and then suddenly catch traction?

Nope. The "two pinion" diff describes the number of spider gears within the carrier. You'll be replacing that carrier with the ARB.

Stolen internet pics of a two pinion carrier and a 4 pinion:

The spider gears are easily visible in this one, and there are 2.

This one you can't really see, but you can see the ends of cross pins, which is an X shape instead of a simple pin as above. Because there are 4 spider gears in there instead of 2:

Ah, thank you, that makes sense.

Cola, sub 200? Weak sauce! 😛 nah I’m just kidding, but really must be nice having really just be getting broken in.

AHC fluid change. Had some foamy fluid come out. Should I be worried?

Replaced a few missing body trim retainer plugs in the front bumper cover where it attached to the grill, and a couple in the front fender liners.

How have your ride quality been? How many miles since your last ahc change? Mine was alittle foamy when I did it at 150k. 1st time of change also. Honestly it changed for the best. Can definitely feel the difference in it. I wouldn't worry too much brah.

It's not the best, due to the reflection off the rear window. I am able to see over my 3 bike 1up hitch rack when it's folded up, or when it's folded down with 3 bikes on it. Other cars would aim the camera right at the bikes or the rack would cover it when folded up.

I need to run the wire inside the tailgate trim still. I initially had it in the car, but moved to the tailgate to get it closer to the good to reduce the glare. I'm not sure it's better though.

Based on the service history, it was the first time. Definitely rides better.

I'm only at 93K...:smokin:

Finally got around to changing my front most front diff bushing that I’ve been dreading. As happens most of the time it wasn’t near as tough as I thought it would be. I was ready with an air chisel but didn’t even use it.

When I removed the bolt the inside of the bushing just fell out. It was definitely shot. It took me about 10 minutes to remove the bushing with a BFH and hand chisel. I pressed the new bushing back in with a ball joint press. The toughest part of the whole operation was just getting the new bushing to start straight. All in all the entire job took about an hour.

Now my clunk is gone and everything just feels tighter. I should have done this a long time ago!!!
