Good deal. I am a big fan of wetsanding myself, results are great if one does it correctly. I know some detailers will avoid the wetsand process and just use the rotary with a wool pad...i never been lucky enough to remove any severe defects via rotary only.The orange peel is often caused by the clear coat, it is conventionally fixed by wet sanding. You can start off with 1500 grit and then 2000 grit. Sometimes I go beyond that 2-stage procedure and go for 3000.
These are all done by hand, so if you have time, try a small 10”x10” section and do a 3rd step 3000 grit test and see if that’ll make you happier. It’s all about the amount of time you are willing to put in.
