Installed the Tough Dog rear springs, talk about stink bug!! Much better ride and greatly improved towing characteristics of the LC! Even feels like it has a little more hp now that it's not sitting on the rear axle with those old stock springs. Plan to install TD tb's in the morning, if I can figure it all out!

Hi all!

New member to IH8mud here. I'm an LC100 owner obviously (2001, UZJ100, completely stock). I'm the second owner (the original was a good friend of my dad's and he sold it to us in 2008 with about 50k miles on it...just hit 84k this week). This week (after years of wishing and planning) I made the first step in Stage 1 of my build with Main Line Overload (West Chester, PA). I am NOT someone you want working on my own truck and I'm lucky enough to have an excellent shop nearby do the install.

Parts for Stage 1:
ARB deluxe bull bar
Warn VR-10s
OME shocks, springs, torsion bar (the rear springs will be upgraded later with the bumper and hopefully aux tank)
SPC upper control arms
Slee slidersteps
Front Runner roof rack
SCS F5 wheels (16")
BFG AT KO2 (LT285/75R16)

"Before" pic attached (not a great photo, un-staged).

I was never a huge fan of the color but it's grown on me (I also don't see too many of the maroon ones). Lastly, I've been told the fenders on my truck are part of some special package, anyone know any details (maybe it gets me that magical extra +5HP)?

Cheers!

Thanks! Yes luckily the original owner had taken excellent care of it, the truck was a 3rd car which he got in the divorce and so we got it for cheap. Originally lived in Florida but he wasn't a boater so lucked out there. It remained (and still is) a 3rd car for me/my wife as well so I really have been putting < 5k miles/year on average. I know it'll last forever (my grandpa had a 60 with > 200k and our neighbor has an 80 with > 300k both stock) so I "had" to pull the trigger on building her up. Lastly, finding out that new 200s are $90k MSRP (?!?) sealed the deal.

@wandering42deg congrats on the truck! Your situation irt how you got your truck is what I'm hoping to come across when the time comes to get mine!

Used some old KC lights from my Dad's old renegade CJ from the 70s (has patent pending on housing). Upgraded the lights to led for efficiency and than took her camping to Northern Arizona.

WhiteKnuckle sliders? 275/70/18 KO2s?
Correct on the sliders. My tires are 285/65/r18 Money saved for my icon lift from just differential.com. I am hoping they have a sale over labor day weekend (like 4th of July) so I can save a little bit of money on the purchase

Put my slave labor to work and changed the rear pads - which had gotten waaaay too squeaky. 14yo needs some more muscle, he was struggling to lift the tire up on the lugs. And before someone calls child welfare, there's a jack stand in front of the axle you can't see.

Actually did this a month or so ago. Outerwear pre-filter for the snorkel. I live near a world renowned bird habitat and one of the little feathered bastards decided my snorkel would make a great home. Despite the fact that I daily drive it and the bird itself wouldn't fit past the snorkel grill. I'd pull out a s*** ton of twigs every few days. Dusted off the air rifle and had him in my sights but was stopped by my little girl because the evil and clever wren ratted me out and started singing and she said she'd be sad if she didn't hear him singing anymore and then the sad puppy eyes. Well played Mr. Wren,Well Played.

Finished up the install yesterday of my Tough Dog lift-tb's, shocks, springs- all done over the last couple of weeks. The tb's kicked my butt! Sitting at 21inches up front and 23 1/8 in the rear, still had to max out my passenger side tb, don't understand why, that's what happened with the stock ones. Hoping the rear settles a little, with future plans for a sleeping platform /drawer system will help out.

Rear coils usually settle after a few hundred miles and some weight is added.
