Our home is a 2017 TAXA Cricket...Staying mainly in National and State parks but a lot of great spots on Hipcamp (If you haven't checked this out, go there now!)

@ilmfj62 How do you like the Cricket? Can you comment on build quality and durability? Have you had it off road at all?

Also, love me some Hipcamp! Looks like a great adventure for you and your little one!

Crawled up a butte to camp the night and watch the Eclipse in Mitchell, Oregon:

The eclipse was an amazing experience!

I thought it was a pretty steep climb, but when I got to the top there was a Nissan Versa sitting there all smug. I thought, "no way, how did he get up here"? And then I spoke to the driver (from Czech Rep.) and he admitted it was a rental car and it didn't smell too good by the time they made it.
Figures.
Rental cars can make it ANYWHERE.
(once or twice)

I'm digging the pink flamingos:):)

The chrome is cheap and flakes off then corrodes, vibration and the wind moving them around eventually made one let go. Hope I didnt ruin anyones windshield :/

That's crazy! Thank goodness for this desert climate. Rust isn't a huge issue in Socal unless you live near the ocean. And even then it wouldn't be as bad as what you described. The underside of my 19-year old truck is 100% rust free.

Anyway, the lock does not stay on while driving. I keep it in the glove box and throw it on the zippers if I have to go into a store or restaurant when I'm away from the vehicle for an extended period. The awning will be removed after each trip and will not be daily driven. That was the purpose of the receiver mounts.

I relocated my turn signals that were discarded from the stock Lx front bumper after I installed the super awesome dissent front bumper. I followed @Ramathorn15 's thread here including purchasing the listed 5$ or so bulb sockets. ARB on an LX470 (Turn Signal Clarification)
A little hacksawing and dremel grinding got the new bulb sockets to fit perfectly inside the oem housing, I saved the bungs I sawed off in case I ever decide to revert back to a 2 wire marker bulb, I can just glue them back on .
While doing the work I noticed this wire loom has been completely abraded down to bare wire. At first I thought it rubbed through from contact with the hard plastic grommet but upon second guess I'm thinking it was a mouse peeking through the nearly empty grommet hole chewing up the wire. What do you think caused it?

Added 5 hp with the IH8Mud decal (counter the drag from all the other stickers). Installed the band clamps on the cat shields to eliminate the clatter (WHY did I wait so long to do that!?). Fixed the passenger side rear vent window (rattled like crazy when open).....NOT the easiest job, but it's quiet now. Oh yeah, picked up a Thule Evolution 1800 cargo box for $50 off CL (needs some work, but plan on patching 2 small holes and then "rhino-lining" the whole thing).

Please give an update on the awning room. I don't think I want the deluxe one, but the older rooms seem to have been discontinued.

That was also my issue at first. A few guys have some new-old stock original rooms on eBay but they want retail price.

I'll post pics after our upcoming trip. Can't wait to test it out as our primary tent.

It's not difficult, just very time consuming.
I ordered terminal housings and the three knob controller. I should've purchased the terminal pins as well, but didn't.
I pulled the radio and began labeling all the wires.
I then cut off the terminal housings.
I de-pinned the original housings and put the pins in my new housings in their prospective place.
I then cut 57ish 10 inch pieces of 22g wire and soldered them to the new controller terminals.
Then I crimped them all to the wiring harness.
I had about 8 hours in the project.
I want to end up doing this but skeered lol

I ordered all the hoses and clamps for the heater Tee replacement for my 98 . Every rubber hose and clamp that holds coolant under the hood and the rear heater

Will get at it in the next few weeks.

Did a second round of trying to get my passenger side AC leak to stop dripping on the floor. Basically, cleaned everything out and replaced the old gasket with a liquid gasket. Hopefully that works but haven't been on a long enough drive since then.

Just finished replacing my spark plugs and ignition coils. I was getting some vibration at stop lights so hopefully the new ignition coils fixes that issue. Two of the coils had changed colors where they connect to the spark plugs. My guess is those were the only two that needed replacing but it seemed safe to replace all of them since I'm at 200k. Haha, I don't exactly know what I'm doing so don't take my word on it that it's a good idea to replace at 200k.

I have been considering upgrading my gear breathers and have been looking around trying to find them. I believe I have found the front and rear breather tubes. I THINK I can see the transfer case and transmission tubes' location, but my guess is I will have to get underneath and remove the bash plate to make sure. My only real issue is trying to find the rear elocker actuator breather tube. I have seen pictures of what it maybe should look like and believe I see a correct looking tube, but the tube doesn't end in a breather apparatus. The tube ends and a half, or 1/4, size tube/wire comes out of it and continues into an electrical wire group wrapping. It is pretty difficult to see under there though...

I was lucky enough to have found someone who had the rooms with doors in stock. I ordered one, it wasn't to bad, $183 shipped.

Let there be light! These should help spot those pesky west TX and central CO deer.

Those look good! It always cracks me up how some of these Chinese companies so blatantly copy stuff like the ARB lights, even down to the font. I don't blame people for running the knockoffs though, given that ARB charges $500 PER LIGHT! Do those have one as a spot and one with a flood pattern like the ARBs?
