After lifting the rig 3.5" with an Iron Man Offroad lift from Metal Tech, I decided to upgrade tires to 295/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, make a set of sway bar extenders, and convert my fixed track bar to an adjustable track bar.

Installed new fuel filter. That's it.

Fab'd up some receiver awning mounts so the awning sits as close to the Gamiviti rack as possible and flush with the top. The female receivers sit in between the top and bottom bars of the rack and are tucked underneath... practically invisible with the awning removed which is what I wanted. Test drove it all weekend and it turned out to be silent which was a relief. Pull a couple of locking pins and the awning slides right out for quick and easy removal. A coupler lock and a luggage lock adds a tiny bit of security and peace of mind. $25 in materials and hardware.

Are these current-production awning covers an updated design? Some pics show baggy covers that are way oversized. This one seems to fit super snug. I also picked up ARB's newly designed "deluxe" awning room. It's so awesome. I'll post pics once we are back in the wild.

They sag overtime. That padlock on your zipper will be a flying projectile when you are driving...... it will fall off guranteed. I have the same awning and the zipper ends without any added weight have come off in a years worth of driving.

M,

I want to know how the Master lock holds up to the elements. I was looking at small locks the other day, but couldn't find a nice quality weatherproof lock.

It's a lock I pulled off my rifle bag and just threw on there for the time being. It won't be exposed to the elements except for outings. Both it and the awning will be garaged.

I've had a regular gold Master padlock on my ammo cans on my Tundra and they've held up just fine being exposed to the elements (albeit Socal) for almost a decade now. A little bit of rust around the key hole area but I've never even sprayed graphite in them and they turn and unlock just fine. The case does look a bit faded from the sun though.

I wonder how a year's worth of driving will make two zipper pulls fall off without any added weight. I don't see how that's possible.

Sucks to hear about the cover sagging. It looks so nice and taut right now.

I wrote a trip report of my recent excursion to Colorado with my family and posted it in my club forum, but I figured if anyone else would like to read it the links below:

Unfortunately just natural physics. Every awning I've ever owned has sagged, no matter what brand. My 270 degree bat-wing Trail Tailor awning has as well. I thought about adding a strip of 14-16 gauge spring steel to the inside on each end to help eliminate the sag. But, it'll only sag so far.

Mine also has three outer straps that help with the sag, but they are at their limit.

The chrome is cheap and flakes off then corrodes, vibration and the wind moving them around eventually made one let go. Hope I didnt ruin anyones windshield :/

Installed my Ironman Commercial Deluxe bumper. Still need to wire up the lights and am waiting on the 9" LED lights (ARB knock-offs) to arrive as well as the Smittybilt X20 10k winch with synthetic line. I haven't documented any of my build to this point. But, it includes MetalTech sliders, Gamiviti Expo++ rack with all 8 mounting points and Slee steel brake lines.

Will have the KO2s installed later this week and looking forward to them. Saving for a Dissent rear bumper (originally wanted the front one, but the Ironman was too good a deal to pass up).

Installed the Ironman front bumper and went for a shakedown cruise. Baseline+build is coming along well.

On the 2006:
1. Installed a Safari snorkel (thank you for the help @Saddletramp). @Saddletramp was incredible about molding the snorkel to fit around the antennae. Always nerve-racking to drill at 4 1/2" hole in the side of your truck.
2. Installed @sleeoffroad 2nd battery tray and ARB twin compressor.
3. Replaced 2865 springs with 2863 springs (thank you for the help @medtro and @Saddletramp ). Got about 1 3/4" more lift in the back.

All-in-all, we spent 10 hours working in the garage on Saturday.

Starting to come together nicely

This week, we celebrated having our 100 for 6 months and living on the road full time for 1 month. Sold my 62 last year and took about a year to find another. Scored an immaculate '04 with 93K and we are loving it. We have driven ~5000 miles since starting our road life in July. Currently we are in Mancos, Colorado and making our way to Southern California and beyond. Our home is a 2017 TAXA Cricket and sometimes a Tepui Baja XL. No permanent home anymore, working full time on the road and trying to have some fun along the way! Staying mainly in National and State parks but a lot of great spots on Hipcamp (If you haven't checked this out, go there now!)
