Sold the 99" LX with low miles, immediately picked up an 03" Land Cruiser with "high miles" at 195k.
New brakes (rotors, pads), Amsoil synthetic change, repainted the grille and rims w/ the matte black that was mentioned in this thread, and removed the wood trim, using only a $2 plastic spatula. Purchased a heat gun, but it was not needed.
Next few months will do steering fluid flush, brake fluid, heater T, and debating doing a PM radiator replacement, but leaning towards passing on that, even though it is original.

Going to do my best to just enjoy the Cruiser for awhile, but I must say, I love Mud....but reading it all the time makes one paranoid about what may go wrong. I have a hard time just enjoying the truck, always thinking about what to fix, or repair, next.
Frankly, sold the 99", mainly because I got a solid offer. I wouldn't have, otherwise. It was in awesome condition, lower miles, and I had done all the PM.
Looked at cars for 3 days, and missed the LX already. Jumped on the 03" when I saw it. Great previous owner, 2" of records, and while it hadn't been worked on for a few years, great shape.
While I didn't go into it wanting the 03+, I must say, the 5 speed makes a larger difference than I had anticipated. I find it is much smoother, and I am really enjoying it. I also like having steering wheel controls, although that isn't a big deal.
Really, there is no reason to move to the 03+, but they are subtle improvements that are nice to have.
The new 03" hood was shaking on the highway, too, so I adjusted the bumpers to create more tension. So far it seems good, but time will tell.

front locker and gears time! I did this on my 99 with a front locker, wish I would have done the gears at the same time, could have saved $600 in labor.

Last week on my return drive from KC I stopped by and picked this up at Slee:
I installed it this afternoon. Should have been simple (like 6 bolts total to remove) but out of four bolts holding the actuator to the axle, three were completely seized! PITA! Had to use the hammer and chisel method for extraction. Which was very difficult in the tight space around the actuator. Job took an hour and a half, would have been maybe 20 minutes without PITA bolts. I will say this, if anything underneath my truck breaks, it will not be this Slee guard. This thing is stout. I also lubed the e-brake actuating parts and checked rear brakes, probably got 40-50% left (fronts are at 75-80%). I have read about rear brakes on these 100's being an item that has to be serviced way more often than usual. I noticed that on both rear brakes that the outside pad was more worn than the inside pad.
Is this normal for these trucks?
Edit: Checked service records and the rear brakes have been serviced almost twice as many times on this truck as the fronts. PO also had them 'Checked' numerous times. Which is the opposite of what has occurred on the previous twenty-five vehicles I have owned (Yes, 25)
Wednesday I serviced the transfer case and rear diff with Lucas Synthetic Gear oil. I also discovered that the filter(?) thing on the end of my front axle breather tube was rusted and rendering my breather completely useless (later discovered the rear was in the same condition). So I cut it off. I am gonna do extensions soon (AT, TC, FR diff, RR diff). Also looking at the extensive dealer service records from the PO I saw that the ATF was changed 1 year ago, but I do not trust dealerships too much. So I took a sample to send off to Blackstone labs. Depending on what they report back, I may swap out the ATF too. It looked good, nice and clear red color, smelled pretty new.
Is Toyota WS supposed to be red?
