Next time I’m in there I can but you can’t miss it. They’re right on the corners where the A-pillar meets the roof. There’s one on the driver and passenger side, probably a diameter of a little less than a dime.
There are actually 4, 2 for front and 2 for rear!

How does one go about cleaning the rear side sunroof drains that you mentioned?

Replaced all spark plugs. Cyl 2 plug was drenched in fresh motor oil. Is that a sign of bad rings? Or could it be something else?

All other plugs were clean except for Cyl 7.. can't quite get to that little bugger so it'll have to wait. Praying it doesn't go out any time soon.

Same way using some sort of line you can push down the drain. The rears are hidden in the back of the channel. Here is a video I took a while ago showing there it is.

2000 Land Cruiser Rear Sunroof Drain
Holy cow, nice work! Looks like that might be tricky to impossible to do without my very own surgery-grade micro camera, eh?

Lol, yea...that was a couple years ago when I got to test out a couple $10k borescopes for work.

I think most get pretty lucky just pushing some line down the track since there really isn't a lot of places for it to go besides the drain line.

Was the oil mostly on the outside of the plug (a sign of failed tube seal on the valve cover) or inside on the electrode (a sign of oil somehow finding its way into the combustion chamber)?

You must not be familiar with the method of tapping in on the plugs with a hammer prior to removing them. It crushes the aluminum crush washers further, making the plug loose. A couple of good hammer taps and you can practically unscrew the plug with your fingers.....
Never needed anything more then a hammer and a short handled socket wrench to remove them.
You're right, I wasn't. That's good to know. Although this was on a 34-year old 4Runner and I don't know that the bolt has ever come off? But I will keep that nugget stashed away in my brain. Thanks for the tip!

It was only around the threads and in the tube. The electrode was dry. I guess I'm safe for now

Valve cover gasket job is not terrible on these engine. But until you can get to it, at least check the valve cover bolts. It is not uncommon for them to come slightly loose, causing the leaks.

Got my 1020 Tslots today, really quick shipping as i ordered these on Friday and they came exactly a week later.

I used a piece of acrylic as my drill template

I drilled into my 1/4” MDF backer board that I’m using as my template to drill the actual aluminum with and mocked it up to see.

leaving that gap for the sunroof that i don’t use or i might realign the bar to center it not sure.

Have to enlist my son to help me get out on the roof to see how it fits

This is going to be fun with the brackets, I’m going to have to slot the bracket that mounts to the roof because the rear portion of the roof tapers in.

Not pictured, but I put some 1" spacers to get it of the roof and still maintain that low profile look.

Good eye. Since ever since, as we say back home. SYR was just a little dream, started up on red dirt in the back yard, on the tiny island of Guam. Hella stoked for Vince and what he’s turned that company into. Just a local boy supporting SYR since ever since
If I didn't have a land cruiser maybe I could afford SYR gis! Lol
