Good approach going through the aprons. I wish I would have got the Denso sensor. I spent as much for one Toyota as you likely did for all four.View attachment 2516777
Shiny new made in USA Denso pre cat O2 sensor. After 120+k miles and 15 years and a recent P0051 code after our turkey day trip to Mammoth and Mono Lake, I also replaced the other 3 o2 sensors as PM. These were factory og ones (Toyota with Denso markings) Had to get a M18 x 1.5 tap to chase one side. For the front I went from the wheel well and undid the aprons.

I got them through Rock Auto, for just under 210 with the Lisle O2 wrench and fedex ground shipping. I think 06-07 sensors may be pricier? I would also get the Lisle O2 sensor chase tap if I were to do it again.
Just did this a few weeks ago. The connector on mine crumbled (98 LX, 126k) so I bought a new OEM one online for about $10 IIRC. This connector is for 98-02 I believe; the newer models have a different connector. It’s basically just matching the wires into the new connector. However, plugging the new connector into the alternator was a little tough for some reason. I also replaced both PS hoses and the reservoir. No problems sinceToday's work was getting the alternator pulled, I hoped. I DID finally manage to get everything off except the connector on the rear. That thing is on there but GOOD, and I'm a little at a loss as to how to get it off. I can squeeze it, I can wiggle it, but it just doesn't seem to want to come free. My gorilla hands aren't helping. Since I'm not trying to keep this alternator, I squirted some PB Blaster around in there to maybe loosen up whatever's seized up. Trying to be as delicate as possible since I don't want to slip and rip those three tiny 245k-old wires off, as that's gonna make more a pain in the ass.
Pointers from the hive mind? Special pliers? Swear at it in Japanese?
Have determined that most/ at least part of what killed the old one was leaky PS lines dripping gunk and goo in and probably gumming up the voltage reg, so I've got a couple of those on the way in as well. If I'm gonna be covered with grease and goo up to the elbow, I'm gonna try hard to fix what's causing that while I'm in it.
Decided while I had the skidplate off that I'd hit it with the ol' flat black by way of cleanup. Everything else under there is dry and tight- I remain amazed at how well these old things hold up.
Disappointing; was hoping this would be a good alternative to OEM, as the Denso units appear to be hit or miss as well. Hope Mishimoto makes it right.Replaced the leaky old china radiator with what turned out to be a leaky new China radiator!
Ordered a Mishimoto replacement radiator a few weeks back and just found the time to install it this morning. After starting it up I noticed a small but constant drip and realized this tiny fracture slipped by my inspection.
Reached out to mishimoto and hopefully they will resolve this quickly and painlessly as one of the main reasons I purchased from them was their warranty system they seem to be fairly proud of. Unfortunately their customer service call center is closed on the weekends, so I hope the email I sent reaches them before Monday.
Anybody have a quick fix I can cover this crack with until a new one comes? Old radiator was busted as well, so not much good putting it back in

Loving mine. I spent the weekend pulling off remnants of AHC and dressing up the frame for some sliders next weekend.
my guess is that it’s less of a manufacturing defect and more of a shipping “Defect”.
this is what the box looked like when it arrived at my doorstep. Subpar packaging and lack of padding/protection will 99% of the time result in sh**** product by the time it gets to the consumer... other than that it looks like a really quality product and was excited to install it.
one holiday where I cosplayed Pac Man in a kitchen
Turns out a plug was loose and destroyed itself and the coil boot. Had to tap the head and put an insert in. Fingers crossedPretty much the most uncool thing you can do with your 100 series. This is my wife’s kid/grocery carrier. Throwing 300, 305, 306 codes. Time is tight with EOY work stuff so I had it towed to my Sherpa @Jboyd for a thorough examination and PM plan. Can’t have the wife and kids’ chariot leaving them stranded after all... Appreciate the assist from @WhiskeyBullets for the gophering!
