Roy,
The exo cage looks good. I am looking forward to seeing it at the Hump and Bump.
See ya,
Steve
Thanks Steve!

See ya there tonight!

The 2008 Hump n' Bump was a BLAST!!!

My 80 did GREAT!!!

I could feel that it was a little heavier than before but not bad!....didn't hinder me AT ALL!!!

Friday I went out with the Total Karnage guys (local hard core club) and hung right with them (they are the ones in the buggies and all tube out rigs that you see in the pics).

I don't have a lot of pics b/c my wife opt'd to stay at camp so I had no one to take pics:crybaby:! Although the trail leaders wife had a video cam so it's all on video which I will post links to as soon as they are available!:bounce:

Here is what I do have.

Where is this trail/event located? That's the thing about desert wheeling, hard to have an exo get in the way.

The only problem with your exo is it makes your 80 make your tires look even smaller. You need 40's and 3" more lift and you are good to go :D

ive seen a couple other exod 80's and this one looks the beefiest. Almost appropriate for the fat arse of the 80 but i agree its so big it now needs more lift and more rubber to look appropriate to scale. I like VZLAFZJ80's here (shawn's too) for looking slim but he says it adds a good bit of weight, and his doesnt offer the protection yours does. However I think you need a rail protecting the doors for that rock on your front fender rails are sliding along in a notch....maybe you could make it removeable somehow, and perhaps that length would need a ctr reinforcement. Maybe a vertical bar along b pillar that allows both doors to open and then a horizontal bar for sliding/protection about the height of your front fender hoop (lower) that hinge at foward side and have pin connecters passengers can secure once insede. It just looks like it could take you so far that you would need that gap protected along the sides to really continue down the trail. Just a couple thoughts, but keep wheelin and show us the cage in action. Kudos to thinking it up and getting it done.

I totally agree with you guyz!!! My tires look really small! I know part of the problem is that the wheels are black and that makes them look smaller while the cage is silver and that makes it look even bigger!!!:bang: I am going to paint the wheels silver so hopefully that will help some.:meh:

I really want to go with bigger tires like 38's or 39's but I have to go down in gears first! All of which cost lots of $$$$$ to say the least!!!

Thanks for the comps!

It's the Logandale trail system in Logandale, NV....do a google maps satellite search for Logandale, NV and its just on the west side of Logandale.

It's REALLY AWESOME there! I have never been to Moab but everbody says that it's VERY similar to Moab....from the pics and vid's I've seen I believe it.

Well Nay I'm taking your advise...well sort of;p!

I just got a set of 325/85r16 XML's (actual size is 38.7"x12.9" so basicly 39's!) some fender trimming required :hillbilly:!!! I'm adding 30mm coil spring spacers all the way around and 2" bump stops! I would go with taller springs but I REALLY like to keep my CoG to a minimum!!!:steer:

I just ordered my 5.29's and should have everything installed and ready to go next week!!!:bounce:

Oh don't worry! I'll be post'n up pics hopefully by next week!!!:bounce2:

more pics!! great build I think its awesome, and it looks great

Always a dubious proposition :D. Post up how you like that rubber out on the slickrock.

I figure my 80 tips the scales around 7k! I do plan on weighing it soon.

So hopefully they will flex well :banana::banana:!

The build is going great...Look forward to seeing it with the tires!

This is how good you can expect to be treated w/Scott at Get Bent Motorsports...his welding blanket was unable to keep one big welding spark off the windshield and that spark caused the glass to crack just a little bit!:frown: Scott didn't even call me he just replaced it!!!:clap: Scott is a great guy and he is doing a great job! Many thanks!
2008.jpg

That's the glass man and my windshield after her started pushing it out! The original crack was only about 14" long.
2009.jpg

I don't have a pic right now of the new windshield but it is in!!!

I have decided for now not to put the removable bars in! I think they will be in my way more than they will be needed!

So now it's time to paint:eek:!!!

These pictures concern me. That's the hard way to take the windshield out and would only be used if he intends to reuse the gasket which shouldn't be done. Have you tested your windshield for leaks? I would also check to see if there is urethane used to seal the gasket.

He did reuse the gasket but I have no leaks!

I had a auto dealership yrs ago and replaced alot of windshields. Most of the time they reused the old seal and I never had any problems.

This was pro done and is guaranteed so I think I'm ok!

Thanks for your concern! :)

Wow. I can't judge the efficiency of the setup but I certainly applaud your dedication and the overall craftmanship. Now, if we could get a pic of the rig, flipped? :D

I dig the hinge doors with the pins on that heep cage. That would be sweet on your 80, but without the 8-ball metal cutouts in each corner.:hillbilly:
