Before that were some fun Saab Turbos, a Galant VR-4 and (sheepishly) some Honda Minivans, for all there practicality :meh:

Hmm...

1981 Oldsmobile Omega (parent's leftover / college car) Manual transmission, manual door locks, manual crank windows, no power steering, no AC, AM radio only. Pretty odd stripped down Oldsmobile, but it was actually a really good car because there wasn't much that could go wrong with it. Was a monster in the snow too.
1986 Pontiac Sunbird Turbo (purchased used) (The turbo blew under warranty, the dealer botched the repair and had to replace the entire engine...)
1989 Honda Civic (This was a GREAT car and what I should have gone with as my first car. I liked it better than the 2000 Accord.)
1995 Mitsubishi Montero (I actually liked this quite a bit, but there was less than 0 aftermarket support for it)
1995 Land Rover Discovery (purchased used in 1997) (Had a lot of fun with this, but the quality control was the pits...)
2000 Honda Accord (Bought as the daily driver after lifting the Disco. Like the Civic, this was nice, but I thought the older Civic was better built)
2005 Nissan Pathfinder (Replaced the Disco and Accord, but was very cheaply made)
2006 Lexus LX-470 (Loved it, but traded it in when gas prices spiked and I had a long commute at the time)
2008 Toyota Highlander (No complaints)
2014 Range Rover (I was debating about this and a G550, but went with this thinking it would be easier for my elderly mom to get in and out. What a POS, but they were in super high demand at the time; I pretty much broke even trading it in after 6 months.)
2014 Mercedes G550
2016 Mercedes G550
2017 Mercedes G63
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser HE

The Mercedes G’s were all a ton of fun. I traded the first in for the engine and infotainment updates in the 2016 and traded the 2016 in because I wanted the much nicer seats that were only available in the AMG models and wanted to do so before the major redesign as I knew I wouldn’t want the first few model years (or so) of that. The MSRP went through the roof on the redesign, so my next vehicle wasn’t going to be a G. After some parts availability issues and concerns over long term service costs and reliability, I decided to get the LC. Now that the LC seems to have been cancelled in the US after 2021, I’m glad I made the move when I did as I hate the front bumper design on the current LX.

I‘m hoping to finally settle down and keep the LC for a long time, but history suggests I’m not good at that... Very happy with it so far.

2006 Honda Pilot and 1997 Toyota T100 that I still have. Got rid of Pilot for LC. Pilot had 183K miles it had started rattling a little and making some squeak noises so in 2018 got LC. Found used 2016 LC with only 14.4k miles.

2013 Subaru BRZ (Fun car, but that's about it.)
2012 Tundra (Met an early death via distracted driver.)
1987 FJ60 (Excellence is the best way to describe a 60.)
2018 Tundra (Did it's job for a year.)
2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon (Fun, terrible daily driver.)
2008 LC (Feels just right, not replacing anytime soon.)

I drove an Army Green TRD Pro 4runner. I sold it last month to get my LC 200. I do not miss the 4runner. I loved the way it looks but it is so underpowered its not even funny. Like seriously, hard to get out of its own way. To be clear, I love 4runners, its such a beast for 50k, for what you get but my right foot would ache after driving it just to keep up regular speed on the road.

BTW, the resale value on the army green trd pros 4runners is outrageous, like not believable numbers. I sold it for exactly what I paid for it. I drove it for 1 year and literally sold it for the same price.

Anyway super happy with my LC 200, its my dream ride and feel blessed and lucky to own one and be part of this forum.

2017 Tundra
2016 Tacoma
2003 GX470
2007 Fj Cruiser

It's funny, I really miss the Tundra the most. Just so smooth, quiet, powerful, and big. Ill probably get back into one when the new models come out. And keep the 200 of course.

I did the exact same thing accept I sold my AG 4Runner to my bro and he loves it!!

-Got driver’s license in the family’s monster Ford station wagon with a surprisingly quick 460 engine...
-Bought my dad’s crappy 1980 Volkswagen Rabbit diesel 5 speed manual that he bought in response to the gas shortage in 1979 (it got 40mpg).
-First NEW car was a 1989 Honda Cicic Hatchback DX 5-speed manual.
-Two different Toyota Camry V6’s...
-Another 1989 Civic
-1999 100 Series
-2013 Subaru WRX & 2013 Outback
-2008 200 Series

2005 Tundra DoubleCab. Drove it to 242,000 miles - last several thousand by my son who was in high school. Still sold it for $6K, even with that many miles. Still was hard to let go. Sold it to help fund a 4Runner for son to take to college.

Current '13 LC approaching 325,000 miles. I plan to buy a '21 and drive it just as much.

2003 4Runner Limited with 270k miles on it when I finally sold it. Realistically, the best replacement for me would have probably been a Prem. Trail or Limited late-model 4R, but I realized I couldn’t stomach the idea of living with a newer 4R without a V8. Instead, I had to bump myself up to the big brother (‘11 LC bought at 165k) :D

I likely had the oldest first vehicle on the thread

1929 Ford Model A Tudor that I bought for $80 used at age 14 in 1969, worked on until I could drive, and sold it for $800 before going to college.
1968 Volkswagen Convertible (used)
1969 FIAT 124 Sport Wagon (used - rusted away to nothing in the barnyard)
1975 Volkswagon Scirroco - my first new car at $5550
1981 Dodge Colt Twin-Stick - rebranded Mitsubishi Mirage (used)
1988 Ford Ranger XLT 4X4 - my first automatic (new)
1977 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCab (new)
1958 MGA 1500 Roadster
2002 Subaru WRX Sport Wagon manual/turbo (new)
2008 Subaru Outback 2.5 XT Limited manual/turbo (new)
2008 Smart Fortwo Cabrio ( used - temporary ownership when daughter bought a Mazda 3) Sold both Subarus plus the Smart to buy:
2016 Toyota 4Runner Trail Premium w/KDSS (new and current vehicle until I get a Land Cruiser)
20XX Toyota Land Cruiser
A few motor scooters...

- 97 Land Cruiser Collectors Edition (old man bought it in '99 and I told him that's what I want when I can drive)

- 14 jetta
- 13 passat
- 03 cooper s
- 13 avalon

I'll play. Not counting patrol cars, aircraft, and dirt bikes:

1988 Ford Ranger
1987 Honda Nighthawk
1994 Pontiac Grand Prix
1997 Honda Shadow
1998 Ford Ranger
2000 GMC Sonoma
2000 Suzuki Intruder
1978 Pontiac Catalina
2001 Saturn whatever
2001 Yamaha R6
2004 Yamaha V-star
2005 GMC Canyon
2009 Chevy Silverado
2003 LC100
2018 Chevy Colorado
2013 LC200

Probably a few more sprinkled in that I have forgotten.

Since we're talking the whole gamut, I'll put out the entire list:

1. 2000 Camaro
2. 2001 Camaro SS
3. 2001 CBR F4i (street/track)
4. 2003 CBR 600RR (street->race-only)
5. 2003 Dodge Ram 1500
6. 2001 Corvette Z06
7. 2005 Nissan Murano
8. 2007 CBR 600RR (street/track)

15. 2016 Lexus GS-F (current, street/track))
16. 2017 Lexus GX460 (current, wife's car)
17. 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser (current)

Owned 2 and 3 concurrently, then sold 3 and got 4. Picked up 5 to tow 4 around (was competing WERA). Then sold 2 + 4 + 5 and got 6. Later sold 6 in order to get 7 + 8. Totalled 8 at the racetrack, sold 7 and bought 9. All others were one after the other.
