Steve, yes it is,, but I just got word the head is cracked and non repairable.. good thing I have the one sitting on the 81 60 I was going to pull and use the block for the 2fe going in the 55... hmmm maybe I should make this 87 a 2fe....hmmmm
I adjusted the valves in the 40 and 62,, they sound SOOO much better,, I am have a good bit of gunk under the valve cover.. and even though the head was rebuilt 85k miles ago I am wondering why I have so much gunk... and smoke out the tail pipe considering compression is 150# at all cylinders...
I have a rumble under acceleration and think the output bearing on my transfer case is going bad,, there is a little wiggle in there.. anyone have experience replacing this? do I need to pull the tcase? I am considering pulling the motor, and separating the transmission, t case, and motor and replacing all gaskets and seals.. I might go ahead and convert to a manual... but I think I am going to wait until the 87 60 is operational...
the 62 seems like a rocket compared to driving the 40 for the last 3 weeks... so quiet and smooth...and powerful!! HAHA!
