What did you do with your truck this week?

Doc, those he took off are factory. The 2 inch are at his house. He never got around to putting them on before he decided to jump to 5 inches of lift.

I do appreciate it though. I'm glad your finally getting you 60 together, it looks great.

I replaced a bad tie rod and 2 wheel studs broken off by the PO (finally) I've only had four lugs on the LF since I got it some 2(?) years ago.
I also pulled off a bump stop to see if I can extend it to keep the front tires from rubbing.

Thanks man and I do love your new ride as well. Oh I did get the console installed that tuffy is just the right height to be real nice arm rest, So comfortable now that I may fall asleep.

Changed the oil in the cruiser and checked the diff's. Everything looked good. I forgot how much oil is in the OEM oil filter (let it drain for about an hour and punched two holes in the top of it) and i'm glad i didnt do it in the driveway. Everything is looking good for next weekend!

Changed the oil in the FJ Cruiser and cleaned the heck out of my garage. Threw out a bunch of stuff which allowed me to pull my Swiss military trailer inside (I'm sure the neighbors like that).

Looks like the nice weather got everybody doing some routine maintenance.

I finally replaced the blown rear axle seal on my Taco, and replaced the rear diff fluid. It was pretty old.

I tried to clean off the diff grease on the brake that has been saturated for 6 months but it looks like I will have to replace the shoes. It's a shame that a $5 oil seal is causing me to replace a $100 set of rear shoes that would easily last another 120k miles.:bang:

Might as well go ahead and prevent it from happening to the other side while I have all the brakes off. Did I mention how much of a PITA the rear drums are to work on these trucks?:mad:

If you ever decide to do it make sure you go to autozone and get a $5 spring retainer removal/install tool. It looks like a nut driver and made a job that I was fighting for 2 hours, happen in 2 minutes.

I will also replace the front pads and rotors with OEM while I am breaking out the checkbook.

Replaced all of the chrome lock-strip on the fixed windows with the black rubber from Precision.

Started welding up the new rear bumper - got the mounts drilled, the recovery points tack welded and enough of the main pieces tacked on to be able to finish it off of the truck.

Also dropped the oil pan to replace the gasket. Found what looks to be a fuel-pump spring in the pan. Now to determine if that was from an older failed pump or if it came off the current one.

Pretty good weekend all in all.

Went to Golden Mtn w/ACC. The trails were miserable after the rain they got. Worse than Beasley, because we got nowhere on seemingly flat ground. Hanging around the campfire sipping beer from my new pimp chalice was fun though.

all parts from my broken CV, recycled into this work of art.

Today was a busy day...dropped off my stock rims for a new set of shoes, got some nice 31x10.50's, then on to the cline co. where I dropped off my drive shaft, picked both up this evening, came home and put it all back on the cruiser....she drives real nice with the new set of shoes, she still has the clicking so I've got to continue to try and track down where its coming from. Busy day but good one

Man the drive to work this morning was nice on a new set of shoes....it's been so long since I've had a new set on there I forgot how nice it was.

Since you have the 60 running and looking so good we can expect to see you out at Gulches this Sat. right??

I gotta make a trip to royston saturday to swap some stuff with Bob so I won't be makin it.

:idea:What if Bob comes to Gulches:clap::clap::steer::steer::wrench::wrench:

adjusted the valves on both the 62 and the 40,,, those annoying clicks are gone... and in the 62 my mileage just about doubled on the first amount of gas I got, but not as great on the second half tank.

I installed all the hinges on the rear platform box. I love that thing, now I just have to figure out what I am going to use to hold the lids closed and locked,, and get the guy to finish the drawers.

sold some axles....and other parts..she is close to hitting the crusher....
