lol you seem to be taking it rather well!!

I spent my weekend fixing Beccas car. What a hunk of junk it is. All 3 motor mounts were done. The entire subframe had to be removed. I ended up using 40" of socket extensions to reach the motor mount brackets.

Replace 3 mounts, new timing belt, new water pump, new idlers, and a bunch of other things. I'm beat. But Stewart won the championship. Great job. Makes all my bruises trivial.. Just glad to have that over. What a great race.

Changed the oil and replaced the fuel filter.

I've got a new exhaust leak on the 62... Don't know where yet.

finally made a storage box for the back of the 62,, actually two boxes, one for the back while rear seats are installed and on for where the rear seats go... in case I end up dating a woman with kids and we want to take my car somewhere...

I'm married, have kids and never want to take them anywhere!

which one???

The pickup. Looking at a powerstroke cc 4wd 99-07 or a 100 series to replace it.

Assembly

Got the shortened chassis (-12 inches) back from the paint shop after sand blasting, epoxy etch, and a coat of gloss black. Re-installed the finished axles to make a roller. (leaf springs will be swapped when I get finished weights at all four corners)

500 miles in 24 hrs in the 45 and confirmed the clutch is most definately failing :D
Tweaked the fender in the gnarly black diamond parking lot trail of two men and a truck
Swapped in new Ujoints and a knock sensor in the 80
bought some wheels/tires.................................ok just kidding :grinpimp:

finally have front heat!!! Could not find a blower housing to heater box tube for an early 40 anywhere so i made one with a pipe from a hand held blower and a roll of tin.

Now my feet are nice and toasty no my morning commutes!!!

I'm also trying to source a 1986 Ford 4 speed overdrive (3speed+overdrive) top loader transmission from an F150.

I'm ready for overdrive!!!

Changed the oil in the wife's 120 (GX470) and when I was under there, noticed some grease on the lower control arm on the driver side. Upon further inspection, the inner CV boot is ripped and spewing grease.

I was able to disassemble to the point of removing the actual CV axle, but getting that out is a royal pain. I was able to find some tips on the FJ Cruiser forums, so I will be trying that tonight.

Luckily she can driver her Heep while i get this fixed.

I finally wheeled my Jeep again...It's been since GSMTR 2010, and then only one morning. Nice to have both axles locked!!

I've never actually changed a boot, but as Marshall said, I have pulled quite a few CV axles in my time. The trick to popping them out of the diff is to use two pry bars...one in front and one in back simultaneously. If you pry with just one bar it binds up and will never budge.

If you are going to change the boot, then you need to remove the outer star/cage I believe. There is a c-clip that retains the star/cage on the end of the shaft. It's a different size clip than the one on the diff side of the axle so don't get them mixed up.

The trick to getting the assembled CV axle back into the diff is to make sure the c-clip is facing downward, ie, the open side is facing the ground. Get the splines lined up in the diff and give it a good hard shove until the c-clip seats inside the spider gear.

Well said Rick.
