Finally washed the truck.

Apparently I brought quite a bit of Nevada home with me a couple weeks ago...

Rear and side leds! 27w rear lights are super bright and side light are very useful. Next weekend brakes! Yes the rear are khaki and the side will soon be! :)

Detailed exterior and cleaned the underside.

Also made a new receiver that passes through the rear cross member and made progress on my tire swing out.

Now I have 28" of room before I damage a bike.

Installed my piece milled lift, snapped both bolts on the rear left shock. Tires / cb next the. To focus efforts on the 40

was going to replace front main and oil pump seals, but i have one of those "torque to 1000lb" crank nuts and couldn't get it off :( so i finally finished wiring the reverse light and roof power to switches.

Changed the oil and filter. Shell is offering a $5 rebate per gallon of T6 Rotella. Auto zone also has a $5 per gallon instant rebate for the same oil. That makes it $100 oil change between my 80 and the wife's GX 470. I'm happy

Filled her up with 91/premium gas and advanced timing to 10 degrees.......no ping, no issues at WOT. Engine seems to rev better at high RPM, in fact got her almost to redline pretty quick as before it seems to lose steam after 4500rpm.

Will drive her around and see. I had it at 8 with regular gas and she was doing fine also with no ping, although with advanced timing(6-8) she does feel a bit happier with premium gas.

Very nice Qball. I also fiddled with the timing on mine this weekend. I at first tried 7-8 ( hard to tell) and got some pre-detonation at initial throttle and the truck felt sluggish. I brought it back, dialed the timing down to 5 degrees and no more detonation. At this setting, the truck feels noticeably peppier. I found that it starts easier and the idle has smoothed out! the overall driveability is much better as well. It currently has 87 octane in it and I'm thinking of running this tank out and filling it with 91 and trying for 7 degrees again.

Every truck is different so give it a try, I'm thinking you can get away with 7-9 with 91. It really helps with the hills. I also have landtank MAF, dorkel and new denso O2s and she really seems to like advanced timing. At sea level I can pull 75 on 5% grade on 3rd gear at 3k RPM with heavy a$$ 35s and stock gear......this is with 6 degree timing and half throttle. We'll see how 10% goes. :bounce:

Awesome! This truck has stock manifolds but newer 02s and an EMS exhaust as the only engine changes. I'm excited to see what gains I can get. I'm more concerned with power as this truck can use every last pony I can squeeze out of it and if I pick up 1mpg in the process, that's fine too.

I'm at 6 degrees and I like it.

Apropos of nothing...
