What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (53 Viewers)

Received and installed a used ECM in my 93. 89661-60221. Got it off amazon of all places for $200. Swear that the engine idles at lower RPM and runs smoother. Is that possible?

Also installed a $3 cb mic holder just above the radio for my GPS, which has all the BC backcountry maps. :-). Many of the roads are washed out after the flooding in June. Lots of fun

Off to the radio tower tomorrow. Hopefully this time I won't get stuck up there.

Turned the 80 into a dedicated trail rig with the purchase of a tow rig. The way she sits now on 38's and everything that's been done to her it's time to let her enjoy some wonderful time cruising in the woods, snow, and on the rocks. :D
Routed cable and installed everything for my portable (read, cheap) HAM setup. Thanks to TONSOFUN for programming my radio. Oh, also ordered the Marlink relay rod and some Toyota rod ends for the completion of my front end with the assist setup.

Did some overdue maintenance to my newly acquired 96. Changed oil pump cover seal, distributor o-ring, and front main seal. It has a nasty oil leak (with 250k miles who can complain). Hopefully not any more. It really runs great, amazing considering the mileage.

Loaded up the 80 with fishing poles, coolers, and ice cold oneZ!!!!! Headed out to ala mo's for some light tackle papio and o'io action!!!!!! What a great way to kick off the weekend

Pics for the visual folks.

Installed the slee rear drop brackets for the sway bar in anticipation of the spring swap. Didn't have enough time for the springs so i just did the shocks and the rear sway bracket.

Also vacuumed it out and cleaned it up. Got it ready for next weekend's camping trip to a music festival.

Nice rack!!!

Where did you get the spare tire holder and what Toyota rims are those.

Thanks,

The spare tire swing out was factory on my truck. It's braced inside the pillar and the tailgate. The wheels are from an FJ Cruiser.

Hooking up this.

Nice rack! Any appreciable wind noise?

I didn't notice any when I didn't have the light bar mounted. With it mounted, I notice a little bit (but I actually had to turn down the radio and listen for it).

Drove to Point Roberts and picked up some goodies!

It's cool. My winch is still resting :(

Traded my built 78 FJ40 for a Built 97 40th Anny. I now have (4) 80 series. Going to list my 91 and 96 80 Series for sale to clear some spots in the driveway.

Cleaned the dog hair out (from 2 PO's ago) from the interior of the 80 and wrote down a list of to-do's

1. Get rid of 1999 Garmin GPS system
2. Purchase Rear Seatbelts for the 3rd row (including the middle one from an early 90's model)
3. Replace right tail-light
4. Fix Alarm system
5. Put bike rack up on top

Mounted a Sean Huston rear bumper. The first mod to the Lex. Next, Slee Shortbus, then 285s, then OME lift, then roof rack, then sliders, and on it goes.

The only reason the rear bumper went first was I was rear-ended so the insurance paid for about 80% of the bumper.

That's very awesome. Contrary to popular belief around here, it's perfectly acceptable to fit a rear bumper with swingouts to an otherwise stock 80.

Is that painted gray to match the flare color on your LX?
