Installed a new driver side window glass run. While I had the panel off, I noticed that the speaker had cracks on it. I am going to shop for a replacement. I have don't plan to replace the HU and furthermore I always prefer to keep the truck as stock as possible. My first choice is to fit the speaker in under the stock grill without much modification. But don't think such option exist for 96 LX. So here are my alternatives:

(1) Pioneer TX-G1641R - there are quite a few write-up about it and it looks like on LX, the steal mount needs to be cut in order to fit the speaker behind the stock grill
(2) Polk DB651 - They are probably better speakers than the Pioneer, but the stock grill will have to go. Honestly, the Polk grill isn't bad looking at all.
(3) Polk DB501. There was a write up a few days ago about using the 5" speakers. They are smaller, but if I can fit them in without altering too much stock components. I will certainly considering them...

What do you guys think?

Did some wheeling in Wellsville Ohio, hit a nasty section and flopped it over and had to drag the pass side to get through.

It was a nasty trail, a rock garden in a creek...

I'll post up some action shots when I get them from my buddy...

Time to.... wait

Fixed the freaking JDM that quit on me during my Yellowstone trip. Turned out to be a bad relay. I've never had a relay go bad before. Cheap Chinese junk.

Got some shots of the carnage in progress, didn't get any from the rear cause my buddy shot them while he was spotting me, sorry it was dark (always seems to be the case)...

Pictures don't really do it justice, the rock on my drivers side is pretty big and the ledge on my passenger side curves to the left..

changed my oil and did some gardening.

Put a for sale sign on it...and almost teared up. New job driving hours a day is forcing my hand. Anyone looking for a super clean 97?

better buy a cheap DD

Looking to find a diesel VW or something of the like that will get me 30-40 mpg. Then slowly save and get an 80 down the road one day. No room or financial standing for two cars at this point

You should look into a corolla. Stick to Toyota. VW will leave you broke.....and mad on the side of the road.
