This is wild! I’m guessing you had the keys handy. What a thrill?! When those jokers came out of wherever they were to find their stolen vehicle gone… would have been priceless to see the look on their faces
I had a hide-a-key. 😁 I was going to wait around and deal a whole hell of a lot of justice but thought I better not. From what I can tell they didn't live in the neighborhood but probably parked it there and then got dropped off to use it when they needed. My friend drove by the area this morning and it wasn't there at the time but another person said they saw it around (they had no idea it was stolen from me). Looks like they were roofers or something. I am going to go through everything in the morning and see if I can find some clues. Not that anything would be done anyway.

It's covered with fingerprints, but you can bet your sweet patoot the Minneapolis pigs aren't going to do squat about it.

So you had a hide a key and they had a key??? How'd ya start it?

That's a good question. There must have been a key deep in the bowels of the center console. I vaguely remember getting new keys cut from the dealer and seeing an old one down there.....or that could have been a bad dream. To get in the car they punched out the door lock tumbler on the passenger side.

Wow, they're the luckiest ****in car thieves ever!!!!! Break in it at HD, and take the time to dig thru the center console and hit the jack pot of a key....

and steal all my sh*t. They even took the time to hook up the battery that I disconnected because of a voltage draw. From the outside, this looks way too much like an inside job. But I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

How many miles they rack up on it?

I am trying to figure that out but from first glimpse it looks like almost 2K!!
damn!!!! 2k in two months!!! Thing was running non stop!!! Start pulling interior panels.... maybe you'll get lucky.....

Installed e-locker front axle after months of rebuild, armoring, and painting the diff. All new bearings and seals made it a fun project.

Rear was installed over the summer along with the harness and ECU along with the dash switch. Just need to route the locker harness from the firewall to the axle and install the bulbs in the gauge cluster.

Can't find the harness routing in the FSM or EWD...

What if these people you took the truck back actually purchased the truck from the thief? Or purchased the truck from the previous owners that purchased the truck from the theif? Just FYI, should think about this more.

LOL, really?

Yeah really, after exchanging hands a few times this 3rd person owner may not know anything about the theft. And this DUDE just showed up and took away their car. And what claim at this point does the poster have? He's taken the insurance payout, probably in exchange for his title...just saying, Idk how it works over there, but its just something to think about!

There was no title to exchange, the plates were ripped off, it was obviously stolen so who would buy a car in that condition???? And the previous owner? I've had this since 2018 so I don't think that is even remotely possible. Let's say any one of your crazy scenarios was actually true...Who F'N cares!!! It's my car!!!! This "DUDE" is the legal owner!

Looks super nice! So you haven't been able to test the lockers yet?

I spent far too long trying to make my own gullwings! Dialing in the splines was pretty painful... woof!
The primary motivation was to use these real neat SouthCo cam latches (E3-16-25).

Definitely still has a ton of room for improvement but at least it passed a heavy rain leak test.
I'll probably add some ~1.25" offset black vinyl trim to hide the visually offensive bulb contact patch.
