Generally, the winch negative goes straight to the battery because otherwise you are relying on the factory battery - to chassis lead, which in almost ALL cases, will be much too small for the winch current.

That is how I had it before but I figured I would ask the question. Thank you for the information.

Repainted then reinstalled stock LCA because my lift is now under 2” so Landtank extended arms no longer needed. Will be for sale in classifieds.
Adjusted the UCA to get t/case flange and diff flange within 1 degree.
Was fun afternoon under my truck wrestling control arms!

I just replaced my secondary battery, went from an Optima 34DM to an Interstate 34M-AGM.

While swapping out the battery I was going to run the power/ground leads for the winch back over to the starting battery but my ground is too short. I will have to get a longer negative lead from work to fix that situation. As far as the negative is only grounding it out to the battery the way to go or can I ground it off to a place on the body like the factory ground location for the battery, recommendations?

Also, what about installing this Blue Sea switch? Has anyone installed one, and if so how did you mount it? This particular one has three options surface, front panel or rear panel mounted.

So new waterpump, thermostat, radiator etc. I really hope the heater core survived.

This is why I only ever use the genuine LLC and sing its praises.

That is a great place to install it. I was thinking along the fender liner behind the battery box but I would have to get more cable to wire it up.

Amayama has rear heater delete hoses. That’s where I ordered mine. Ships from Japan.

Can use Gates and cut it down for the PHH

Thanks, honestly the biggest inspiration for them was to help my wife get into the rig lol. I suspect they’ll have some functional use on the trails too!

Installed CoverKing Velocivent seatcovers on all three rows of my '97 FZJ80. Took about 10 minutes or less per seat with the 1st row being the most involved to install. Fit is good and they don't slide around much at this point thanks to a layer of the perforated foam sheeting added on the bottoms (the stuff that is sometimes used to stop rugs from slipping on wood flooring). I need to dial in the fit a little more in a few areas but am happy with them after the quick initial fit and a few drives. I'll share an update in a year or two after young kids, large dog and various road trips have exposed the weaknesses in these seat covers.

Price all in was just over $300, ordered from Costco. The Velocivent material is the least expensive and also is supposed to be a little cooler than the other options, which is the main reason I chose it.
